I finally found an easy to work with, flaky pie crust. Goes together without a food processor and there is a handy video link to show you how it's done. I suggest chilling the dough for an hour before rolling.

Cherry pie made with Door County Cherries bought at the farmers market last summer. I may not be able to wait till my husband comes home!

Showing some love for my TofuXpress gourmet tofu press. I've it almost every week for over a year. It's sturdy. It's easy. I throw all the parts in the dishwasher. It's not cheap but it does exactly what I want it to do! Press that tofu!

When you buy the double pack of bacon from the Club stores, take one package and roll each slice up, put on a baking sheet and freeze. When frozen, pop into a freezer bag and store. When you want a single slice to toss with some brussels sprouts or a few slices for breakfast, you are ready to go.

Instant Pot Oatmeal experiment - Put 2 cups of water in bottom of Instant Pot or electric pressure cooker. Add the wire rack. In glass jars, coffee mugs or bowls add 1/4 regular (not instant) steel cut oats, 3/4 water and a sprinkle of salt to each container. Place in pressure cooker on rack. Make sure the container has room for the oatmeal to boil. (See jars that overflowed that were filled to the rim?) Cook on high for 15 min. let release naturally. Stir and eat or cool, then screw a lid and chill for tomorrow.

I've been making a lot of frittatas lately. Easy to throw together on a weeknight or for a quick brunch. Perfect to take leftovers for lunch the next day! I was going to share my recipe but then I found this great Infogram and article on Epicurious. My version is spinach, asparagus, mushroom with goat cheese.

Candy making season! I am using my new Range Thermometer which displays the temp on iPhone and iPad!! Also graphs it and you can choice temperature presets for meat and candy making or create your own! Works on the stove and in the oven. (I really don't keep my iPad that close to the stove. That was for photo purposes! Luckily there is a nice long cord to keep your iPad or iPhone safe!)
