AARP Foundation Experience Corps Evansville-Vanderburgh AARP Foundation Experience Corps Volunteer Members are in schools working with students in grades K-3 who are struggling in the area of reading.

AARP Foundation Experience Corps Program hosted by Carver Community Organization, utilizes the time, skills and experience of adults over age 50 to help students in kindergarten through third grade become fluent readers and strengthen literacy skills. In 2008, Caver Community Organization received funding from Welborn Baptist Foundation to involve seniors in the community in an academic mentoring

program titled AARP Foundation Experience Corps Evansville. Our primary focus is assisting students in increasing reading abilities so they become proficient readers by the end of the third grade. AARP Foundation Experience Corps Evansville provides tutor volunteer services for over 150 students as of 2019, help to improve literacy rates of children in grades K-3, strengthen communities, support hardworking teachers and develop cultures of inspiration in our schools.
