My 35th birthday was an absolute dream, and now I can’t wait to shower all my favorite fearlessly feminine babes with love! Before Fearlessly Feminine was my main focus I spent over 10 years as a wedding photographer and LOVED serving my couples. I’m privileged some of those relationships lead to dear friends and many FF cheerleaders. But as I dove deeper into my own self love journey I knew bo***ir was the way I wanted to celebrate and encourage women. 10 years later I’m still ardently committed to making women feel liberated, seen and downright badass through an impeccable client experience and a whole lot of heart.
I photographed my first bo***ir session in 2011. (The “I am wild” series launched long before it had a name babes😂. Swipe for my first ever bo***ir session😳🫢)
FF officially launched in 2014, and I went full-time as a bo***ir photographer in 2019. When I wanted to cut weddings from my business, Dakota was reluctant, I reminded him where the passion lives the funds will follow. And I was right.
Starting this business in my early 20s was a thrilling rollercoaster with a steep learning curve. A good CRM system is essential, an accountant and a bookkeeper are invaluable, and having fellow women entrepreneurs to share this journey with is a blessing I’ll never take for granted.
Over the years, I’ve worked in eight different studios, held European destination sessions in three countries, operated studios in two states, and photographed hundreds of incredible clients. Behind the scenes, so many invaluable individuals have helped make this dream a reality. If I could tell my younger self anything, it would be that you can create the reality you dream of, some parts will be beautiful and some will be heartbreaking. You can evolve, adapt, & find joy in your passion while achieving success and charging your worth. Covid is undoubtedly going to suck. The fear of failure will eventually be a distant memory. You’re going to be the hero in some stories and the villain in others, only let the opinion of people you respect weigh on your heart. Having a supportive partner and the right team makes all the difference in your joy.
To celebrate ten years let’s reflect on all the wonderful women who have made this journey possible! If you’re one of them, a heart felt thank you!
As a small business owner, it’s all too easy to overlook the big wins. Not because they’re insignificant, but because making the space and time to celebrate can be challenging—there’s always something that needs your attention.
So, as we lead up to our 10 Year Anniversary Party this week I’m committed to soaking it all in and embracing the pride that comes with sustaining a business for an entire decade and reflecting on how I got here. So let’s dive in!
In 2005 I went few places without a film camera glued to my hand, I’m still bummed I missed the dark room era. I knew owning a photography studio was for me, junior year of high school. I landed a gig working for the newspaper after persistent pursuit of an internship for the previous two years. I took the original “no” from the editor as an invitation to ask again later. When they finally handed me the DSL, the rest was history.
While I soon decided journalism ultimately wasn’t for me, I begrudgingly skipped the hefty art school price tag and went on to receive a journalism degree. I arrived freshman year and instantly went to work finding a studio to hire me. A lot more no’s lead to photographer offering for me to come work, for free and when he starting paying me $10 an hour it felt like a big win 😂. Hands on experience is never lost on me.
I begged all my friends to model way more often than they wanted. I started with small paid projects in 2006 and 2007…officially taking my first wedding in 2008.

I read recently your motherhood will outlive you and it’s something I cant unhear. So heavy and yet so beautifully powerful, to know everything you’re pouring into this person goes beyond even what you’ll be able to witness.
The duality of the whole experience is constant… both difficult and unimaginably lovely. Here’s what I know: seasons are fleeting and time is a thief. It’s almost painful it’s so true. Magic exists where you choose to find it and I deeply desire to document the romance, triumphs and beautiful evolution of this season for you.
You’re more than enough, momma.
Even before the official test shoots, and I always make sure to step in front of the camera ourselves. Because over preparation is the name of the game, amen?
I’m absolutely in awe of our new hand-painted backdrops. I haven’t felt this beautiful since my wedding day. And yes, it’s the same dress, but this time, a smaller version of a guy with the same last name is in my arms.
Today marks the start of our formal Motherhood Era test shoots, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Get ready, because official bookings and our new collections launch this Mother’s Day! Who’s excited?

April 16th marks a monumental milestone in my journey—not just as a bo***ir photographer but as the creator of Fearlessly Feminine. It’s been exactly ten years since I penned my first blog post. Back then, the idea of starting this venture filled me with nerves, yet every step that pushed me out of my comfort zone has rewarded me with unimaginable joy. Sharing your heart publicly comes with criticism and judgment but to say it’s more than worth it is an understatement.
Time truly flies when you’re living your passion. What a phenomenal trip it’s been with all of you, my FF babes. To those who have been with me from the start: from the depths of my soul, THANK YOU. Officially hard launching our motherhood era sessions. Cue me screaming on the inside! (I’d scream on the outside but ya know Coast is napping in the car while we charge the tesla 🤫🤐)
I get often asked if I ever photograph babies, and I always said no and meant it in a definitive way. But motherhood has a way of changing you. Motherhood brought me more peace than I ever thought possible. 🕊️I chalk it up to the breastfeeding hormones. (Give me all the serotonin please).
I didn’t see the deep desire for this project coming….cue me eating my words in a big way. Soon we’ll be officially offering motherhood sessions and I couldn’t be more tickled, overjoyed, inspired. You name the good feeling I probably have it about this project.
