How did we do?😍

Really love how this bathroom turned out, especially with how small of a space this is. Carrying the gold accents throughout the house into here and going out of our comfort zone with some darker color accents. Washing & dryer going in shortly to complete the space!👏

We had a hiccup…🙃

The original stairs we were using were no longer up to code. Because we rotated them, we had to compile with the latest county requirements and the stair treads where too small. Going with a new normal stair would of extended it way too long and taken up a lot of space upstairs, so we decided to go with a spiral staircase. It’s very small but added a unique feature to the house that I think everyone will enjoy.

About dang time!💧

We finally got our Well installed about a month ago!!!!!🎉 This has been such a frustrating experience and happy to have learned a lot. Our Well was suppose to be complete in May before any other construction started, but the contractors rig broke down and everyone else was booked out for the year. A few months ago we finally found someone to squeeze us in right before winter rolled through. So happen this in now complete and can actually have a usable home!

Check out the kitchen transformation!🎉😍

Love the wood cabinets with the white quartz countertops and our tiny appliances! We had to modify the layout a little due to having to switch to a spiral stair. Thankfully we were able to keep our countertop seating area and still make the space look big.

DIY Inspiration here🛠🛠

Saw a few reels on others building a fireplace wall so I had to do it too. The shiplap accent turned out great and love the fireplace features with changing color and flames. Going to be very cozy with the winter rolling in. 🔥❄️

Drywall and shiplap are done🙌 This makes the space feel so much closer to being done! We went with shiplap on the “sloped” walls and drywall on everything else. We love how upstairs turned out with the exposed beams😱

Electrical panel upgrade doesn’t look like much but it’s a big step! We were originally on 100amps which would only be able to power a handful of items. This upgrade required contacting the electrical company and getting larger power lines to carry 200amps to our house from the transformer we were connected to. The new panel is on the left-the longer box. We had to install a this grey panel extending to the ground in order to meet code requirements for the panel height.

When they looked into it they realized that the current transformer was already overloaded, and for us to upsize our power, would require a new transformer. This required a new permit, a 4 month lead time for install, and thousands of dollars😵 Another wrench in our timeline but we made it work.

This increase in power usage will allow us to use updated lighting, full kitchen appliances, multiple outlets, and upstairs power, power for the hot tub and for the a/c and heating.

Here’s our utility & storage room. With our house being under 700SF, we wanted to eliminate anything that didn’t need to be installed in the house and take up space. Thankfully being on a hillside, we had a natural large slope to locate this room right under the house. All the under the house pipe is concealed in this room to protect from freezing and we will have plenty of storage to allow our guest to maximum the use of the actual house.

Our house is completely insulated now. Doesn’t look like much but it’s one step closer to drywall!

Before & After:

Flooring installed and looking so good!😍 Went with the lighter color LVP to brighten the space up with how much it already is. Next up is insulation and drywall.

2nd floor framing is finished! This will be the loft and master room. The loft is a simple space for a bed, dresser and night stand. The master will have this custom built in sunken bed frame that’s going to look so good!😍 Drywall is coming quickly after this!

Bathroom Framing and plumbing is done! Having this bump out really helps maximize our space in this A-Frame with being able to actually use this corner. Excited to see the finished product soon🏕 doing great work!

Subfloor is done on the second floor, no more trying to balance on the beams😂 Walls and electrical coming soon!🔨 doing what they do best!

With actual construction in progress, I wanted to share the rendering shots of what the final will look like. Made a few adjustments since these renderings but the end product will look pretty close! So excited to keep sharing progress!🙌
