📊 For more than a decade, Robin has served in various industries as an accountant, so she’s seen a lot of different financials and different company setups. Her technical accounting knowledge and her eye for financial reporting and general ledger review make her ideal to support Gemsbok’s wide range of clients.

📣 In her spare time, she and her husband cheer on their favorite college and professional football teams. Their 3-year-old daughter keeps them on their toes and is now big enough to join them on short hikes through the gorgeous trails in Parker, Colorado.

📉 A client came to us because they were operating at a financial loss and THEY DID NOT KNOW WHERE THEY WERE LOSING MONEY.

📈 The Solution: After helping this client reorganize their financials to clearly evaluate revenue and costs of each product line, we discovered that SUBSTANTIAL COSTS OF GOODS WERE NOT PROPERLY ACCOUNTED FOR IN ONE OF THEIR PRODUCT DELIVERY MODELS.

~These costs were being absorbed by the company, instead of being passed on to the customer, and were costing our client hundreds of thousands of dollars each year.

~In evaluating the problem, we offered the client options to resolve the issue and bring them back in the black.

~Options included increasing marketing efforts to grow revenue, increasing prices to recuperate the indirect costs, or close down the warehouse and move to a drop-ship delivery model instead.

💲 The Result: The client recognized the inefficiencies of warehousing and decided to move to a drop-ship model. Be aware of your company's time-off policy.

✔️ Many states require that unused earned vacation time be paid out in your last paycheck. If your employment contract says you do not get paid your earned vacation time upon termination, that usually supersedes state law.

✔️ Many states also have laws against a use-it-or-lose-it policy.

✔️ In addition, since COVID, some states are now requiring companies to offer a minimum number of sick days.

✔️ Always check your state's laws and your HR policies or employee benefits.

Remember, you always want your company to comply with all state laws!
