It's so pretty in the backyard this time of year! I took a couple of pups out with the snowmachine. Snow White and Tomato 🍅 did great with following today at 8mph. Hopefully they will gain a little confidence and run in front next time! Snow White is such a pretty pup at 7 months 🌼 🌸

Dot 12years young. She deserves Queen treats and a soft bed on cold nights 🌙 she is one of 3 Alaskan huskies here at the kennel. Dot was taken in from a backyard, unwanted there...definitely wanted here. She is a fantastic lead dog. I always wish we got more time with dogs like this! I would take another 5 years of time please!

Squirrel getting some rubs! Did you know that we take in unwanted or rescues? Squirrel has been with us for about 5 years so far! Yes! 25% of the dogs at Howling Bay are from other places or situations where they were not wanted or needed a home. The dogs are evaluated and then matched with dogs that have similar qualities, then instructed on how to run in a team ❤️ When you book a tour here, you not only support traditional dogs, you provide direct support to these dogs that have been taken in and have been given a second chance to shine!

Seasons Greetings,
This is a friendly reminder to please dress in appropriate winter clothing when visiting the kennel. This is to include: warm coat and pants, a hat, gloves and winter boots.
There are a few items that are not suggested: sweatshirt or sweater only, sneakers, dress shoes or high heels.
I can suggest Alaska outdoor gear rental for great selections on warm rental gear to keep you comfortable.

Our weight policy is as follows; please note that each guest must weigh under 250lbs clothed. Each guest must be physically able to walk without assistance of crutches, or walking device and be able to stand from a low crouch position. Upon special request, if a guest exceeds the weight limit but is physically capable of taking a tour comfortably, it is possible to make a reservation, but it will be considered a double booking as they will ride single passenger on a sled.

If additional assistance is needed with booking, transportation, clothing or information regarding tours please feel free to reach out!

Spa day! Dozer and Deacon got treated to baths, brush/blow dry & mini pedis today! It only took 3.5 hours :) ha they almost didn't fit in the tub! Thank you to Lucky dog pet grooming for having self service pet wash options!

Are we going to see any wildlife during our tour? This is a common question! Possibly! We have seen moose, wolves, grouse, fox, squirrel and various bird species- on multiple occasions during tours!
These are wolf tracks, by the looks of it, we just missed each other today!
