John Stowman and Jennifer Eskridge are bicycle enthusiasts, fund development consultants, and social entrepreneurs. Collaboratively, they have raised over $27 million dollars benefitting public programs throughout Alaska and combined have nearly 40 years of experience in business and non-profit management. In 2012 they found themselves collaborating on a project that captured their imaginations an
d illuminated the possibility of creating an economically sustainable and philanthropic culture within any organization. Together they formed the company Working INK, llc. Drawing on their experience with strategic, fiscal and operational development, as well as purpose driven programming they now bring innovative ideas and solutions to other organizations nationwide. FAIRBIKES started as a case study for a new business model designed to both lower the risk and accelerate the process of creating earned income streams for Non-profits or small business that embraced the concept of a triple bottom line: Planet, People, and Profits. FAIRBIKES received an overwhelmingly positive response from everyone they spoke with and they have spoken with thousands of Fairbanks locals and visitors. The public offered suggestions, they expressed excitement over the possibilities, and they shared their thoughts on the many ways a bikeshare would positively impact the community as a whole. John founded FAIRBIKES, llc, which rolls out in Fairbanks Summer 2014.
