A few weeks ago, I had been out shopping for the church all day and when I came back, this beautiful basket was sitting on the patio table full of goodies from home made strawberry jam to kitchen towels and pot holders. It was from Pam and Tom Bowman welcoming me to the neighborhood and inviting me to participate in their adopt a highway event for East Run Rd. I continue to be amazed at the absolute kindness of the people in the Mannington/Farmington area. 🥰💙💛

God sure has blessed me with some amazing friends and one of those (from grade school) blessed me with a beautiful picture of the sheet music to Amazing Grace. She messaged me and told me that she saw it in a store in Fairmont and thought it would be perfect for Heavenly Haven WV. This was the first song that I sang acapella in there the first day that I bought my church. I arrived at my other Airbnb, Heather's Haven WV, Friday night and found it where she had dropped it off for me. I went yesterday morning to hang it up in the master bedroom of my church and it couldn't be more perfect! It is absolutely beautiful and I will cherish it forever. Thank you so much Carla Jones! You are such a beautiful soul and I will think of you every time I see it! 💜

Big things happening at my other Airbnb on the Tygart River, (Heather's Haven WV) in Fairmont yesterday...💙✝️💛

This weekend has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life!! When God gave me Heather's Haven WV, I never could have imagined the plans that He had for it. I dedicated this place to Him and filled it with scriptures from those I etched in the concrete at the curb, to those painted on the wine glasses. And to think that I thought it would just be an Airbnb...His plans are always so much greater! 🙌 Yesterday, a film called, Changed Forever, (a faith based movie produced by a faith based production company, JC Films), shot 3 different scenes here for the movie starring Dean Cain (Superman) and the beautiful lead actress, and now friend, Terri Bonds. I never in a million years thought Superman would be at Heather's Haven, let alone cutting up with him and sharing some stories. (He is absolutely hilarious and brilliant.) On Saturday, I got to be in the film for 3 different scenes filmed at a church service and then Saturday night I was in the scene filmed at an AA meeting. I ended my day yesterday with a trip to Saint Albans for the movie premier of Faith, Family and Football (also starring Dean Cain) where I got to welcome the guests at the door and collect their tickets. A huge thank you to my beautiful friend, Cindy Radcliff Lowther, for dragging me along for the ride!! I met Cindy filming the prison scene together for the Lifetime movie with Melissa Joan Hart Monday before last. It's been an absolute wonderful break from rehabbing homes and working construction. I've actually got to get dressed up, act a little, learn how movies are made and most importantly, see how God works through others and the film industry. This film is a true story based on the book, Changed Forever, written by Alexis Lackey, based on her struggle with alcohol addiction and how she lost everything, but God restored all of it. I had the pleasure of meeting her and having her here at Heather's Haven. Her book is for sale on Amazon.

God is good ALL the time and All the time God is good!! 💙✝️💛

At 4:40 pm yesterday, I finished my last project, packed up my tools and belongings and pulled out of the driveway. The church is finished, and my first guests were already settled in. We learned that the yard is perfect for frisbee golf and she loves to play the piano. 😀 They are from California and will be staying for 5 weeks while they direct and film the new Lifetime movie in Fairmont being produced by my friend, Robert Tinnell. I am completely exhausted and sore from head to toe, but finally slept like a log last night without a to-do list a mile long rambling through my head. Thank you so much to all of my family and friends who came to help me carry in the heavy stuff, run around to thrift stores, dropped off housewarming gifts, held stuff while I screwed and hammered it into place, lent their trailers and ladders, offered opinions when I was undecided and the moral support. I reconnected with old friends and met a lot of great new ones. I discovered how awesome Mannington, WV is and all of the things to do there. I met a ton of neighbors who stopped by and told their stories of growing up in the church and dropped off goodies. I loved every second of it and would do it all over again. God is good ALL the time and West Virginia is amazing! It was good to be home for the past 2 months!! 💙💛 I will post final pics later. 😀

It's getting there. I have to put up stained glass film in the window behind me, that is the laundry room, so that you can't see in. Those window panes had to be replaced. I've not been able to find anything that even closely matches the rest of the windows though. I've got a huge ladder set up that I'll be hanging off of again soon. 😆

I finally got my metal sign hung in the living room today. It was heavy and a struggle, just like I thought it would be. 😂 A huge thank you to my cousin, Debbie Maxwell Robinette, who helped me with it. I never could have done it by myself. 🤗💝

I made it to the telephone museum (who knew) on Monroe St in Fairmont and found the phone book with the picture of my church on the cover. It was taken by Mr. Warner (a well known, local photographer) and the same picture hangs on the wall in the visitor's center. It was published in Sept 2007. I found my old phone number in another book from when I used to live here 23 years ago. If anyone has this phone book that I could have to display in the church, please let me know. 😀

I got all of the door pulls drilled and installed on the kitchen cabinets today. I didn't make any mistakes... thank goodness! I even flipped some doors to open the opposite direction and adjusted several so they lined up better. Another item off of the never ending check list! ✅️

It's starting to feel, and smell, like home in here finally. Made chili in the crock pot and a big bowl of pasta salad. First time I've got to cook in here. I hope my future guests love it as much as I do. 🍴🥣🥘
