REMINDER TO ALL SQUIRREL HUNTERS!
Mepps wants to buy your squirrel tails! [Please leave the bone in the tail!] We'll pay you cash or double the cash value in Mepps lures.

Roadkill as unfortunate as it is, can be a good way to harvest squirrel tails. Mepps President, Mike Sheldon was cruising the country roads around our factory in Antigo, WI when he came across a fox squirrel that didn't make it across the road. Instead of letting the roadkill go to waste, Mike took the roadkill off the road and brought the tail to Mepps. This is a great example of re-purposing a natural resource that otherwise would not have been used for anything else.

***Mepps is only interested in recycling tails taken from squirrels that have been harvested for the table. We do not advocate taking squirrels strictly for their tails.***

A little update about fur prices and what we buy. We don't post a price list because prices are always subject to change. What we price today might not be what the fur will be worth tomorrow. If you want a quote call or text Jerod @ 405-929-0893 or 405-929-9213.

Coyotes were holding steady, same price as last year, but cats are down right now.

We buy most of the furbearers: coyotes, bobcats, mink beaver, otter, badger and skunk. The market on c**n and possum is still depressed so we would rather not buy them. If you do accidentally catch one you can bring them to us but we can't give much for them.
Have a great trapping season and a blessed new year.

Did you know that a cougar can pull off a 16-18 foot vertical leap? Horizontally they can muster 45 feet. Check out this trailcam photo posted by wolverinewatch.org. Yep, not a wolverine, but a very determined mother cougar going after the bait in the tree that was supposed to lure a wolverine in. It was taken in 2016 in the Elk Valley during a southern Canadian Rockies wolverine population study "Mapping the Wolverine Way".
