Otter Tail Country Tourism Association has been working hard to promote tourism in this region since 1976. Our membership is comprised of a wide range of businesses and communities. We are 2.5 hours from Minneapolis, MN and 45 minutes from Fargo, ND. Our area is made up of twenty-four charming communities sprinkled among wooded hills and crystal clear lakes. Otter Tail Country covers approximately 2,225 square miles – and over 11% of it is water. That’s 157,000 acres of water!

Let's give a BIG OTLCA welcome to Dora O'Brien, the new Area Naturalist at Glendalough & Maplewood State Parks. We got to meet Dora last week and we are so happy she is here. Dora moved here from California and started her new gig last fall and is splitting time between the two state parks. "I started at the end of September and have been enjoying the new job and loving life in Otter Tail County since then." Hopefully you get to meet Dora soon as well. And YES, they do rent cross country skis at Glendalough. Snow shoe rentals are available at both Glendalough & Maplewood State Parks.

What a wonderful evening for a walk in the woods. Tonight's candlelight trek at Glendalough State Park was tremendous. Despite the cold temps, folks showed up to take it all in. Hard to say what our favorite part was. The fresh air, the starry skies, the moonlight, the sound of snow crunching under our feet? Or the folks we visited with. Huge thanks to Glendalough Park Partners and the MN DNR staff and other volunteers for a great Saturday night in Otter Tail County, MN. If you missed this event, there will be one at Maplewood State Park on Saturday, Feb. 22nd.

Our friends at Thumper Pond Resort in Ottertail MN have 12 snowmobiles you can rent. They are really nice 2 up Polaris sleds. Hand warmers work great. U can rent for 4 hours or 8 hours. They even have helmets you can use. What a great way to this winter in Otter Tail County, MN. #

The Rural Rebound Initiative began back in 2017. It is based on the research of Ben Winchester from the University of Minnesota Extension. Otter Tail County leaned into his findings and we have been able to keep labor force numbers steady despite facing a predicted decline due to baby boomers retiring. We aren't taking a victory lap yet, and lots of work remains.
