My name is Dominique Pischeda, and I have been an artist for over 35 years and I am also a certified EMT. I am a registered small business owner which is called, Trauma Readiness Training, where I am a Moulage/Special Effects artist and I specialize in applying mock injuries (Moulage)for the purpose of training Medical Personnel, Fire Departments, Police Officers and Military Personnel. e done classroom training, when the instructors get to the trauma aspect of their class, whether it is EMT, Paramedic or the Nursing programs, so they do not have a need for the mannequin's. I have worked with the USAF, FEMA as well as with the Military Medical Teams. We did Mass Casualty Drills/Incidents and used different disaster scenarios such as a power plant explosion, natural disasters, bombings and active school shootings. I demonstrated some very different simulated injuries such as bruises, burns, chemical burns, compound fractures, amputations, bullet wounds, glass in different body parts, and other medical injuries, all to make it look realistic. Applying mock injures to "victims" to students who are entering into the medical field, will go in with a true feeling as to what to expect once they have graduated. By preparing EMT 's, Paramedics and Nursing students and they will be better trained and more emotionally prepared to take the necessary emergency actions. For anyone who has never experienced or have seen traumatic life altering injuries or multiple casualties, this would also be a way to see if the student can actually handle being in the medical field. The more realistic the simulation is, the more the learning experience has expanded. I recently did a drill with RSW Airport in Ft. Myers, FL where we demonstrated a plane crash with 176 "victims". I have worked with the Howell First Aid Squad in Howell, NJ and we did a scenario where we had an overturned bus with 25 injured children, and worked with Lakewood First Aid in Lakewood NJ, where we have done multiple MCI Drills. I have worked with many different MCI scenario's. I also did the moulage for Project Crash at the Jackson Memorial High School in Jackson, NJ for the past couple of years. I made the injuries and the fatalities so realistic, that there was not one student that I was told about that was arrested or in a car accident during and after prom with regards to drinking and driving. When the drill is over, it will help critique during the debriefing to see where the strengths and weaknesses are. With doing a MCI Drill or training class, where you can actually see the injuries, see the emotions of the injured, they will be able to make quicker decisions, prioritize the patients during the triage without the use of the injuries being read off of a card, they will be able to handle the emergency appropriately, effectively and with confidence in a safe and timely manner. I do have a portfolio, and I also have commendation letters from the Howell First Aid Squad Chief, and also from the Medical Director
at Kimball Hospital in Lakewood, NJ if you request it. I work mostly wth Silicone and Gel make-up in the event someone is allergic to Latex, and I also have my own supplies. I am able to travel to do a Mass Casualty Drill, and I also have done lectures pertaining to Standard of Procedures. Also, I will travel to wherever I am needed. I generally use students that volunteer from local colleges that I train that are either from drama class or from art/make-up training, to keep the cost down.
