Great news! The federal government has started work on a new, $52 million beach in Fire Island. The Pines in summer 2025 will have both a vast new beach and a reinvigorated commercial district.

The Madison is open until October, but here’s a Labor Day shout-out to our incredible team for making it through the summer intact, and with the place looking as beautiful as ever.
For more than a decade we have been helmed by the great Mike Cruz (that’s him on the left with me). No one could be luckier than I am to have such a dedicated and talented general manager - it takes a huge amount of work to keep the Madison humming in top condition, and he does it with class year after year.
A shout-out as well to Zack Welsh and Mark Garner for their hard work and talents this year - they came through for us over and over again when we most needed them. We’re blessed to have them as part of The Madison family.
Our doors are open for another month - come stay with us and see for yourself why there’s nothing like The Madison.

Behind the scenes at the Madison these past few weeks have been a handful of people working their hardest to prepare it for the season. Our general manager Mike Cruz (far right) and our ace Mark Garner (center) have been working long hours in anticipation of our debut this coming weekend (that’s our owner Andrew Kirtzman on the left).
Yesterday, Mark dragged Mike out to tea for a breather. A few hours later he was back at work.
