IPPEL's upcoming guest speaker, Josh Mantz, will be joining us next week on Wednesday, November 13th at Cline Library! 📣

Josh Mantz is a combat veteran who was shot in Iraq, subsequently died on the operating table, and was then brought back to life roughly 15 minutes later. Of note is that he distinctly remembers dying on the table. After his recovery, he became a speaker for the DOD on the topic of veteran mental health only to then find himself in another mental health struggle. He worked with many mental health professionals throughout that recovery and eventually found quite a bit of solace through philosophy. He is now pursuing a PhD in consciousness studies at the California of Integral Studies. His talk will focus on moral injury and recovery in his talk entitled "Meaning-Making Through Adversity: How Your Story Leads to Growth."
