For those that don't know, we asked Ray Bubba Sorensen to paint a huge map for riders to sign and mark where they're from. It included the State of Iowa, the United States and the world. Yes, a world map! We were told by RAGBRAI there were riders from around 20 different countries!! How cool is that?!?

We may not have gotten signatures from all 99 counties, but we did manage to get ALL 50 states and 17 countries!!

The committee would like to thank everyone who volunteered or supported the town in any way (big or small) before, during and after RAGBRAI!! It would not have been a success without you all!!

A huge thank you to those who reached out offering their generators during the power outage!! So, greatly appreciated by us and vendors! It left a huge impression on the vendors and riders!

Another HUGE thank you to the town guys and GMU for being up most of the night and busting your butts to get powered restored!

Thank you to Rustic Tap and Wreckers or Checkers Bar for providing the riders with ice cold adult beverages. By the way, riders loved your bars! Also, thank you to Sixteen Oaks for being the "finale" as folks headed out of town!! From some of the pics, I'd say the slip 'n slide was a hit!!

Thank you to other local businesses that provided services or supplies to help make the day a memorable one for the riders!!

We heard tons of compliments about our town and how friendly and welcoming we are! Some even said they'd like to visit again! One of my favorite compliments I heard was, "I love small towns like this, but this one is perfect. You guys did it right!"

So, our theme must've been right, Fontanelle- IS a "wheelie" good time! 😁

Lastly, thank you to RAGBRAI for including us on the route!

RAGBRAI PIE is ONLY available at the community center/cooling station!!

Another shout out to RAGBRAI riders!! We have a lot of photo ops for you while you are passing thru!! Make sure you get off your bikes and check out what we have to offer!! We promise it'll be a "wheelie" good time!

We have 2 unique bars Rustic Tap and Wreckers or Checkers Bar who will be serving you some ice cold drinks! (Northwest sides of the square).

We have John J "Rambo", a 35 year old Galapagos tortoise, who will be out in his yard with his owner, Al, on the southeast side of the square.

There will be a 1940's firetruck set up in the park for you to check out and get pics sitting in the driver's seat.

There will be a world/United States map in the middle of the park that we would love for all of you to sign, so we have a momento from this day!!

On the south side of the square, will be some info on the history of Fontanelle along wth a photo cut-out that was used 15 years ago (the last time RAGBRAI came thru town).

We have feed wagon basketball for you to test your skills or maybe even a little pick-up game, I know some local kids that may take you on.

The rock on the northside of the park that contains a time capsule along with other historical markings.

There is an old historical bell outside of the library along with a large book for pics (across from Casey's)

We have a cooling station and first aid set up in the community center/Fire station along with PIE!! PIE!! PIE!! (Fontanelle Lions Club).

There will also be water filling stations, ride-thru mister and water tanks for taking a "dip"

As you head east out of town, be sure to stop at Sixteen Oaks for one last chance to "hydrate" while also cooling off on their giant slip 'n slide!!

This is sure to be a "wheelie" good time!!

Hey RAGBRAI riders!!

While you're in town on Tuesday, be sure to stop by the northwest shelter in the park (across from Rustic Tap and Wreckers or Checkers Bar) to meet and have your pic taken with Fontanelle native turned professional rodeo clown- Shawn "Stutzy" Stutzman.

He is a 35 time rodeo clown of the year, has been on ESPN, ESPN road trips, outdoor network and the Cowboy Channel. One of the best barrel men in the business! He has worked rodeos from New Jersey to Alaska and everywhere in between.

I forgot to post this yesterday...RAGBRAI personnel is currently completing a pre-ride of the entire RAGBRAI route. They will be in town today approximately around 10:45am until 11:30am. If you happen to see them, make sure to stop by and say hello!

ATTENTION!!

Anyone interested in possibly being a vendor in Fontanelle for RAGBRAI. The committee is holding a meeting at 6PM on Wednesday, May 8th at the community center. Please plan on attending as a state food inspector will be there to answer questions.

Following the vendor meeting, there will be a community meeting to discuss all things RAGBRAI and the major need for volunteers.
