's Premier Festival is September 16th! The Corn Roast and Chalk Art Festival will fill the streets of downtown with family friendly fun. Starting at 8am, you can get a sidewalk square and chalk to create your masterpiece, from Valley Art. Enjoy live performances on the stage, food and artisan vendors, and of course farm fresh roasted corn beginning at 11am. Meet new teachers, play some games and enjoy some corn ice-cream. Get there before the festival ends at 4pm.

Save the Date: September 16th. Chalk Art festival starts at 8am. $15 gets you a sidewalk square and a box of chalk...the rest is up to you. Then at 11am the Corn Roast begins. Entertainment on two stages, food carts, artisans, local businesses and recognition for some local educators! And of course... farm fresh Roasted CORN (prepared by FG fire fighters)! Program ends at 4pm. Mark your calendar!

Parade in on Friday! Wapato Showdown Car Show Group on Saturday in Gaston. Vehicles arrive between 7am and noon. Best pipes at 1:30, trophies at 3:30. Then head to for Uncorked Wine and Food on Saturday starting at 4pm. Sounds like another great weekend in Western Washington County.

Thirsty Thursday just got a savory twist with our bold Bloody Mariko cocktail! Dive into the perfect blend of rich sake and umami flavors, creating a masterpiece that's as unique as it is delicious. Kanpai to embracing the savory side of life.

Mixer for 4 Cocktails:
• 14 oz Tomato Juice
• 7.5 oz Dashi
• 1 oz Soy Sauce
• .5 oz Yuzu Juice

Ingredients for 1 Cocktail:
• 5 oz Mixer
• 3 oz Hakutsuru Sho-Une Daiginjo

Directions
1) Rub the cut edge of a lemon wedge around the rim of a glass to moisten. Dip rim into the salt.
2) To make mixer, combine tomato juice, dashi, soy sauce and yuzu juice and stir to combine.
3) To make cocktail, add the mixer and sake to a highball glass and stir to combine.
4) Fill the glass with ice and then garnish.
