Tulum Deltaversary

Beverly planned our line’s 20th sorority anniversary to Tulum. Beverly provided timely individualized support to all of us. Her resort recommendations were spot on, everything was beautiful, and the resort was amazing!!! She even helped us coordinate a photographer for a group photoshoot. She was on hand to answer questions before, during and after the trip and handled last-minute changes with ease. I was so grateful to have her to coordinate this international group trip.

Did you know that the poinsettia flower – a symbol so commonly seen during the U.S. holiday season – is actually Mexican in origin?

Unlike most Americans, the majority of Latinos celebrate Christmas on December 24. Nochebuena , or Christmas Eve, is often the biggest feast of the Christmas season. And guess what flower is referred to as the “Flower of Christmas Eve?” That’s right: The poinsettia.

Poinsettias’ association with Christmas began in 16th century Mexico, where legend tells of a girl, commonly called Pepita or Maria, who was too poor to provide a gift for the celebration of Jesus’ birthday, was inspired by an angel to gather weeds from the roadside and place them at the church altar. The weeds spouted crimson blossoms, turning them from weeds into beautiful poinsettias.

TRAVEL TIP TUESDAY

Google your flight number
One of the easiest and fastest ways to check whether a flight is still slated to depart or arrive on time is to Google it. All you need to do is use your computer or mobile device to go to Google.com, search for “[flight number] status” in the search bar (for example, “AA 2488 status”), and hit enter. Google aggregates various flight-tracking websites and displays the estimated arrival and departure times in a widget at the top of the page. Google will also display the most up-to-date terminal, gate information, and news of delays.

Give it a try and see how fast you will receive your flight status.

Notre Dame, the treasured Gothic gem in Paris that went up in flames in 2019, will officially reopen Saturday, 7 December.

Reopening to the public: 8 December 2024 at 6.30pm

The new liturgical furniture (baptistery, altar, ambo, tabernacle, cathedra) are designed in bronze by the fonderie d'art Barthélémy Art in the Drôme. The sacred vases were designed in gold by l'Atelier d'orfèvrerie Marischael. The new chairs - 1,500 in all - are made of solid oak from Sologne. The crown of thorns - an essential sacred relic for believers - is installed at the heart of a new 4-meter high reliquary, designed in cedar wood. During the April 2019 fire at Notre Dame, a priest named Fr. Jean-Marc Fournier rescued the crown

Good news for Chase Sapphire Reserve® cardholders: Your credit card will soon grant you access to several new, upscale airport lounges.

The credit card company recently opened a new Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and revealed plans to open four additional lounges across the USA (including one that will open next month). These outposts will join Chase’s existing locations in Hong Kong International Airport, Boston Logan International Airport, and both New York’s LaGuardia Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport. A fun design feature of the recently opened Phoenix Sky Harbor Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club is a central Airstream food truck.

Chase will open its next lounge at San Diego International Airport on December 6, 2024. The 10,000-square-foot space will include a wellness area with private rest pods, on-demand digital meditations from wellness guru Devi Brown, and facials from skincare brand Face Haus.

Additionally, Chase will open three more lounges in the coming years:

Philadelphia International Airport (PHL): Opening in early 2025 in the Terminal D/E Connector

Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS): Opening in mid-2025 in the Terminal 1 C gates

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX): Opening date TBD in the Tom Bradley International Terminal

Beyond the various Chase lounges, Reserve cardholders will also now be able to access the roughly two dozen Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges and Air Canada Cafes. Although most of the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges are in Canada, there are four in the United States: Los Angeles International Airport, San Francisco International Airport, LaGuardia Airport, and Newark International Airport. The caveat is that travelers must be flying with a Star Alliance member, such as United or Lufthansa, to gain entry into the Air Canada lounges.

Brunch in Charleston, S.C. at The Bennett, a Salamander Collection property. She crab soup, devil eggs, chocolate truffle with Gran Marnier sauce, and pecan caramel cake. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Looking for a great domestic getaway? Consider Charleston, South Carolina.

Yesterday, November 16, was International Flamenco Day, a celebration of an art form that has been telling stories through song, guitar, and dance for over three centuries. 💃

In 2010, UNESCO recognized flamenco as an Intangible Cultural Heritage, but its artists have always known their art has no borders. From the caves of Sacromonte to the stages of Paris, from Jerez to Tokyo, the rhythm continues to pulse across the globe.

Today, we honor the singers, musicians, and dancers who keep the spirit of el arte jondo alive. Here's to the passion that moves us all.
