Happy Lunar New Year! 2025 is the Year of the Wood Snake, and people around the world will mark the occasion, including on the Mendocino Coast and in Ukiah.

Mendocino has a long history of Chinese immigration — stretching back to the 1850s — that has enriched our local culture. Celebrate with two events hosted by the Temple of Kwan Tai (one of the oldest Chinese temples in California): the annual Children’s Chinese New Year Parade on February 13 and a dumpling making and eating party on February 23.
