The morning completely evaporated, but I was up early and got the Morning Mix sorted before the adult job made demands. The handcrafted Afternoon Blend is coming together in near real-time, and will have another spin of the brand new Smile track (3p mtn), along with more from that incredible new collab, L B J (Lol Tulhurst, Budgie, and Jacknife Lee). When we say "from the base of the northern Colorado foothills", we mean it (shot this morning from the roof of my "adult job").
Head Instigator is back from a day off (was quite the weekend for live music), and we have some groovy new tunes to debut today, including the english band Hot Wax that has quite the buzz about them right now, and has an extended run as the opener for Royal Blood. Also will cue up new singles from Idles (!!) and Modern English. We'll also be busting into the halloween stash early (instead of waiting to play all those fun songs on just one day). join the high quality audio stream at Indiesf.com.
this is from the Mission Ballroom show from Saturday nights Thievery Corporation show (this is an incredible mirror ball that is a permanent fixture in the venue, but for some reason, doesn't get a lot of use, so its nice when they light it up)
Head Instigator is back in the bunker after taking most of the weekend off (with a big thanks to Otto for covering). We enter the working week with new tunes from Kevin Morby, Queens of the Stoneage, and Slowdive, so hop on the handcrafted Morning Mix and ease into your Monday on the good foot at Indiesf.com.
*video below from Flaming Lips show last Thursday night, yours truly wound up basically at the front of the stage, maybe 20 feet back.
More scary tunes on the way as we move through the handcrafted Afternoon Blend.
We're officially into the 4th of July holiday weekend! we turn 15 tomorrow, after our initial launch on the fm dial, here we are still doing what we love, playing the best new and independent music from the base of the northern Colorado foothills.
