Happy Tuesday out there. We'll be debuting new tracks today from King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Leon Bridges, and more from the Apple TV series 'Bad Monkey'. If you don't know, the series is based on a Carl Hiaasen book, and I would highly recommend his writing, especially if you like a heavy dose of humor mixed in with mystery. Best of all, Carl writes about the absurdity of Florida, a place he calls home. Vince Vaughn is doing a nice job in the role of Detective Yancy, and the music is all Tom Petty covers by folks like Eddie Vedder and Fitz and The Tantrums. Seems like we are plowing through the work week, hopefully its moving at the same clip for you. Musically, we have a new single to debut from Chime School today, along with more from the new Jack White release. Interesting story from the White camp concerning touring around this new surprise release:

In a note posted to Instagram on Tuesday, White addressed fans clamoring for “tour dates” by explaining that he’ll be forgoing the traditional route of announcing dates well in advance. He also intends to play mostly “small clubs, back yard fetes, and a few festivals here and there to help pay for expenses.”

“Shows will be announced as close to the show date as possible, some shows we won’t even decide to do until that morning,” White explained.

“I also want to walk through orchard fields and grab apples off of trees at will and fill my belly full of that fruit if the desire strikes me,” White added. “I’m looking for that cool breeze you know? Lots of love and rock and roll to you all and you are blessed for giving that love to others, we hope that we see you out on the road soon, if not let’s get coffee and a slice of pie sometime? Music is sacred.”

The morning completely evaporated, but I was up early and got the Morning Mix sorted before the adult job made demands. The handcrafted Afternoon Blend is coming together in near real-time, and will have another spin of the brand new Smile track (3p mtn), along with more from that incredible new collab, L B J (Lol Tulhurst, Budgie, and Jacknife Lee). When we say "from the base of the northern Colorado foothills", we mean it (shot this morning from the roof of my "adult job").

Head Instigator is back from a day off (was quite the weekend for live music), and we have some groovy new tunes to debut today, including the english band Hot Wax that has quite the buzz about them right now, and has an extended run as the opener for Royal Blood. Also will cue up new singles from Idles (!!) and Modern English.
