🌟 Join us in welcoming Arlene Friday, Vice-President of the Caribbean Society of Hotel Association Executives (CSHAE) for the 2024-2026 Biennium! 👏🎉

Arlene is the Chief Executive Officer of the Grenada Hotel & Tourism Association, where she has been a driving force since December 2019. With a dynamic career spanning strategic management, business development, and stakeholder engagement, she has fostered innovation and collaboration in the tourism industry.

Under her leadership, the GHTA has launched impactful training programs and community initiatives, including a campaign that trained 180 hospitality workers. Her accomplishments include receiving the Destination Resilient Award from the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association and the CHIEF 2024 Award for Social Responsibility.

Beyond her executive role, Arlene holds a Master of Business Administration in International Business and serves as a guest lecturer at St. George’s University, sharing her expertise in international business and cross-cultural communication. She also represents the GHTA on key boards, such as the Grenada National Emergency Advisory Council and the T.A. Marryshow Community College Advisory Committee.

Arlene is a visionary leader and passionate advocate for sustainable growth and resilient communities in the Caribbean tourism sector. We are thrilled to have her on board and look forward to the positive impact she will make in shaping the future of CSHAE and the region’s hospitality industry! 🙌

The Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) mourns the loss of visionary Saint Lucian hotelier and developer, The Honourable Nick Troubetzkoy, SLC, SLMH. Nick’s legacy is etched in the stunning landscapes of Saint Lucia through the iconic Anse Chastanet and Jade Mountain Resorts and lives on in the hearts of the Soufrière community he so deeply cherished.

CHTA President Sanovnik Destang reflected, "Nick was an industry giant who dreamed big, championed sustainable tourism, and made an enduring impact on the Caribbean’s hospitality sector and local communities."

Among his many honors, Nick and his wife, Karolin, were recognized with the 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award at the Caribbean Hotel & Resort Investment Summit. His dedication to sustainability and his contributions to Saint Lucia earned him the nation’s highest honors: the Saint Lucia Cross and the Saint Lucia Medal of Honour.

Nick’s commitment to celebrating all things local and building in harmony with nature remains a guiding light for the hospitality industry. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife Karolin, the Troubetzkoy family, and the entire team at Anse Chastanet and Jade Mountain. Nick’s profound impact will continue to inspire for generations to come.
