Last week I went to St. Louis, Missouri for a work retreat for . I knew I was going to have the opportunity to learn a lot, but what I didn’t expect was to be surrounded by amazing, enthusiastic, encouraging people with hearts of gold that I can now call my friends. ❤️

Our agency is small but mighty because we truly care about each other and do everything we can to help one another. It was so palpable that our presenters even said so!

Things on my to do list today:

Wake up at 4am
Board a plane to St. Louis at 7:15am
Get to St Louis, Missouri at 9am

What my to do list ACTUALLY looks like:

Get on the tarmac
Get delayed for 2 1/2 hours on the tarmac
Back to the gate for more delays

Now I get to chill at the terminal where I started until we can board again! Yay! 😅

These are the realities of traveling. Things don’t always go to plan. The best thing to do is be prepared for those inconveniences. Bring your earbuds, books, EMPTY water bottle (to refill once you’re past TSA), snacks, etc. These will help you when things go smoothly, but also insanely helpful when they don’t. It’s not always ideal, but by being prepared it makes it much more bearable.
