We were tasked by Audia Records with getting a few computers ready for a small studio located in Pompano Beach in the NW corner of Sample Rd. and Woodside Dr. right across from the McDonals behind the 7-11. Its a small start up but the foundation is laid and they are creating some serious work. We will get some better pics hopefully.

We have successfully finished the first Phase of our email server migration from Microsoft Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010. It was fairly simple and they have really made it that way in this latest release. THANKFULLY! So emails are flowing once again and customers are happy. So are we...because the new version looks cool :)

We did it again. Recently we have attained another certification and moved up one more notch in networking know how. The Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is regarded as a starting point to many great fields in networking. Some say this is all you need. If that were true we would be working at Geek Squad. We will continue to refine our skills representing ourselves as a knowledgeable and well rounded IT firm in our community and society. The Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) battery of tests are next.

Proud to announce that I have completed my basic Cisco Networking Certification exam today and I am now a CCENT. The next step is to make sure my partner does the same and then we go after the CCNA. We improve ourselves to further improve our service. I think that is a good recipe for success.

Working on a phone system quote for a customer. Its a multi-tenant church and they plan to have a voice mail system for each congregation, five in total. We plan to allow their voice mails to be emailed to each congregations individual mailbox. Also the system is highly customizable and we use it ourselves internally. This should be fun.

I visit Best Buy today to purchase Win 7 Home Premium OEM for a customer. I went up to a computer specialist in the Tech depart to inquire about this Product because I did not see it in the software section. The tech told me that he did not know about Win7 OEM. I was a little disturb as a IT Tech did not know the different between Retail and OEM Software. Question: Is this the kind of IT Tech you want to help you?

AT&T acquiring T-Mobile. Jeez thats big network you have there. In the past AT&T has been plagued with bandwidth issues causing dropped calls and slow mobile internet service. I am hoping this will allow them to actually provide the speeds they advertise.

Resilvering ZFS: A Love Story :MJ Network Solutions Blog

Update on the data storage server built for a customer. Seems a drive failure occurred. This is common and since we planned ahead it had no affect on his data what so ever. Quick reboot (yes we use our own advice) to make sure everything was OK before starting repairs.

While writing about 2TB of data from a customer’s external drive an internal drive fails but is revitalized upon restart. Most likely its a case of a I/O timeout or a failing drive. NO Problem!
