✈️ Planning a trip to the UK? Here’s what you need to know about the new Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA).
Starting in 2025, the UK will require travelers from visa-exempt countries, including the USA and Europe, to have an ETA for short-term visits like tourism, business, family visits, or transit. Non-European travelers will need an ETA from 08 January 2025 (applications open now), while European travelers will need one from 02 April 2025 (applications open 05 March 2025).
You don’t need an ETA if you hold a visa, have UK residency (e.g., pre-settled/settled status), are a British/Irish citizen, or are traveling from certain UK/Irish territories.
Be prepared and avoid disruptions by securing the correct travel permissions in advance! Learn more on our blog, here: https://www.flygmt.com/news/uk-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta/
