✈️ Planning a trip to the UK? Here’s what you need to know about the new Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA).

Starting in 2025, the UK will require travelers from visa-exempt countries, including the USA and Europe, to have an ETA for short-term visits like tourism, business, family visits, or transit. Non-European travelers will need an ETA from 08 January 2025 (applications open now), while European travelers will need one from 02 April 2025 (applications open 05 March 2025).

You don’t need an ETA if you hold a visa, have UK residency (e.g., pre-settled/settled status), are a British/Irish citizen, or are traveling from certain UK/Irish territories.

The UK government has made changes immigration rules - among these changes is the requirement for ETA for travel to the UK.

The 63rd Antigua Charter Yacht Show proved once again it's rightful place as one of the premier yachting events in the world. High profile yachts, Crew, Brokers and shore support vendors along with the warm, generous hospitality of the locals came together for an amazing week-long event. Spirits were high as we placed a bow on the 2024 global yachting calendar and began looking forward to 2025!

December is a time for celebrating connections and milestones, and this past Friday, December 6th, we had the pleasure of hosting an exclusive dinner event for some of our esteemed clients. In collaboration with our partners at Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, the evening was designed as a tribute to the partnerships and trust we've built together over the years in Greece.

We look forward to many more opportunities to connect with our valued clients as we continue to grow together.

Hurricane Milton is set to make landfall as a Category 3 storm. Authorities have issued evacuation orders in several counties, and major airports along Florida’s west coast. Airlines have canceled thousands of flights, and Amtrak and Brightline rail services are adjusting schedules. Flooding and record storm surge are expected in affected areas, with officials warning of potentially devastating impacts.

▪️ Airport closures: Tampa (TPA), St. Pete (PIE), Sarasota (SRQ), and Orlando (MCO) airports suspend operations.
▪️ Flight cancellations: Over 2,000 flights canceled nationwide, affecting Tampa and Orlando airports.
▪️ Evacuation orders: Issued for counties along Florida’s west coast.
▪️ Rail service disruptions: Amtrak and Brightline suspend routes in affected areas.

On Friday, September 20, 2024, GMT Greece and Oceanic hosted a Client Appreciation Reception for over 250 guests at the PLOES Floating Venue in Athens. The event provided an opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to our valued customers, along with our airline partner and sponsor, Turkish Airlines, for their continued support.

The evening featured speeches from Tim Davey, Founder and Managing Director of GMT, and Kyriakos Hadjikyriakou, Managing Director of Oceanic. Guests also had the chance to win round-trip tickets on Turkish Airlines in a business card raffle, with prizes awarded by Mr. Ahmet Haluk Gungor, Regional Sales Manager for Turkish Airlines.

To commemorate the evening, we highlighted our recent collaboration with WWF Greece, supporting the reforestation of the Sounio National Forest, underscoring our commitment to a sustainable future. Our donation will help plant 400 additional trees to restore and protect the environment. As a token of appreciation, each guest received a small olive tree.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to making this event a memorable success.

The highlight of the week for us was our party on 3rd June at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center.
