We hire about 8 to 14 trolleys (sometimes a few buses as well). The attendees have several optional check-in locations. All are issued a wristband and Bus Loop card. The trolleys/buses ride a continuous loop from 6pm to midnight along a specified route with easy access to 7 to 9 venues. Attendees ride the trolleys/buses all night long for free. They are given a complimentary drink or food sampling
from each participating venue. On one side of the card is a map of the route and the other side is divided into boxes. Each box represents a bar/restaurant on the route. When the server has served the attendee a drink, the server will mark off the box. The attendees are not on any schedule and are not in any hurry to leave each venue. When they are ready to leave the venue, they simply walk outside and wait for the next trolley to come by. We strongly encourage the attendees to walk and pick up the trolley/bus along the route to avoid driving to check-in. We heavily emphasize taking taxis, limo services, or designated drivers if they do not live within walking distance to the check-in locations to avoid drinking and driving. Most venues offer wine, well, or beer. Some will offer only one of the three or simply a specialty drink. Some venues often offer complimentary appetizers but at our request, for one hour from 7pm to 8pm. The Bus Loop receives wide area press coverage before and after each event in most of the local well circulated magazines and newspapers. The BusLoop.org website receives about 3,000 hits prior to each event. The database receiving Bus Loop emails from each charity exceeds 30,000 email recipients. 10,000 Bus Loop card flyers are distributed throughout the City prior to each Bus Loop. In 2011, the Bus Loop expanded to Delray Beach hosting a bus loop in September and December. In April of 2012, the Bus Loop will expand into West Palm Beach and Boca Raton on June 1, 2012.
