Specializing in ballroom dance cruises, DAS is the first and original dance cruise organizer to offer an all-inclusive, guaranteed host-to-guest ratio.
Dancers at Sea is an accredited travel agency with CLIA, Cruise Lines International Association. Wendy Olsen, President/CEO founded Dancers At Sea in 1996 as a natural solution to what she saw as a void in the vacation cruise experience for people who love to ballroom dance. The voyages she organizes are a dance enthusiast’s dream come true! Wendy understands you! She’s been dancing her entire lif
e and loves it all … ballet, jazz, disco, freestyle country, you name it … but ballroom is closest to her heart. She's that rare individual who was able to create a company that blended her favorite activities. And don’t worry if you’re traveling alone, you’ll make tons of friends since you’ll be traveling with people who share your own love for ballroom dance. Plus, if you prefer the economies of double-occupancy accommodations, Dancers at Sea will pair you up with the perfect cabin mate. Many room-sharing solo travelers have become lifetime friends on DAS cruises and now travel together! DAS offers a 1:3 host-to-guest ratio to make certain that everyone dances to their heart's content. In addition, Wendy personally selects each ship to make certain that the quality and size of the dance floor will meet a ballroom dancer’s requirements. On every voyage, you will experience dancing with at least one highly-trained professional ballroom dancer along with top social dancers from across the nation. Group lessons are taught by a professional instructor and private lessons are available too. Of course all this will be in addition to visiting exotic ports located on every continent on the globe! Dancers at Sea is never distracted by offering other types of specialty cruises. Devoted solely to ballroom enthusiasts, DAS respects your vacation time, your investment in travel and delivers on promises. Since 1996, DAS has organized more than 125 ballroom dance cruises and hosted nearly 2000 dancers from across North America and beyond. Many of our "Dancers at Sea" are repeat customers and have taken countless voyages. We invite you to "Cruise the World and Dance Your Dreams" on one of our upcoming voyages. Our final formal evening spent dancing in Explorer’s Lounge. It’s been a blast cruising and dancing with everyone the past 10 days. Today is rather relaxed with early dance workshops and casual attire. Of course we are dancing this evening too. Have to get in those final waltzes and cha-chas.
Yesterday our group worked on waltz technique — movement and posture. At the end of the video, you can see how, using these concepts, just basic right and left turns can turn into something beautiful.
Batch 4 of 4 from Club Fusion social dance party Tonight is the last formal evening. One more day at sea and we will be home.
We have just begun our waltz lesson with Martin. This little 2 minute video about posture is so valuable to social and student dancers. Posture is something to maintain—but it isn’t (per se) “held.” Later we will post a recap of the full lesson. This kind of information and training is an integral part of the value of traveling with Dancers at Sea.”
Dancing at sea. More photos of our guests and fantastic pros and hosts.
More Club Fusion dance party pics.
We will depart Antigua shortly. It’s the final island stop in our tour of the Eastern Caribbean. We are looking forward to two days of dance workshops and enjoying the amenities and activities aboard ship.
Dancing in Fusion Club after a long day in Guadaloupe
We are in port at the French island of Guadalupe (gwad-a-loop). Most dancers are still on island adventures right now. Others are just enjoying the Caribbean sun and the beautiful Caribbean Princess. Our 2024/25 New Year voyage is already listed on our website. So, if you couldn’t make it this year or want to join us again on New Year’s, you can reserve now. (PS: we have some fantastic, destinations listed besides New Year’s. Check it out! Link below.

After a fun day in the Barbadian sun, everyone retired to Club Fusion for … more ballroom. It appears that many still had plenty of energy for a Viennese waltz.

We reached Barbados today — along with three other huge ships! Obviously a popular destination known for possessing some of the most gorgeous beaches in the world. Our dancers are off to view the sights, shopping at the local markets for colorful goods, swimming with turtles and exploring Harrison’s cave. What a life, right? 🏖️+🛳️+💃=😍. Cruise all day and dance all night. On what voyage are you joining us in 2024? Check out all our upcoming cruises using this link: https://dancersatsea.com/comingcruises.html
A couple days ago we had an excellent rumba lesson with Todd. In this video, he demonstrates the patterns with Amy. We covered two types of turns, the slow walk-around (6-count) and the ladies quick turn. By the end of the class, everyone had mastered it. During the class, Todd also covered rumba technique—and some points for advanced dancers.
What a fabulous evening. We started off the festivities laughing hysterically at Troy Thirdgill, an Irish comedian. Then off to dine on filet mignon, lobster and baked Alaska. 😋 We then enjoyed the theater show, “Broadway Ballroom.” Of course we ended the evening with a dance party and champagne in The Explorers Lounge. Dancing and cruising—such a great combination.
Happy New Year!! We have a special New Year offer for the first 24 new bookings! Click the link for full details. Reserve today!! Call Wendy at 1+888.791.2918

Today we made port at St. Thomas. The best part of cruising with Dancers At Sea is that we stop in gorgeous places to have travel fun. Whether it’s taking the “Sky Ride to Paradise” to enjoy amazing vistas or shopping for pirate souvenirs, we are always enjoying our ports of call … before we return to dancing. Which voyage will you be on in 2024?
Today’s Foxtrot lesson with pros Brandon and Amber focused on the foundation of American Smooth Foxtrot. Even our advanced student dancers appreciated reminders on technique like: taking dance position, collecting your feet underneath you as you move through the step, and that a “slow” is two beats. We are so fortunate to have amazing professional instructors along with us on every cruise to share their skill with our guests.
