Ever wonder why when you cruise with us, you may hear our Captain sound 1 prolonged horn blast, followed by 3 short ones. Our crew has been getting a lot of questions as to why that is... So hear ya go! Quite simply ship's sometimes use horn to communicate their intentions and in this case it's a 2 part sound signal. 1.The prolonged blast indicates that we are getting underway and leaving the dock. 2. The 3 short blasts means that you are operating in astern propulsion such as backing away from the dock.
