MSC Cruises Reveals First-Ever Alaska Season Set for 2026

Starting in 2026, MSC Cruises will add a fifth U.S. homeport and introduce its first-ever Alaska cruises. The line will offer seven-night sailings between May and September.

Sailings will be on board the line’s MSC Poesia, with the first sailing taking place May 11, 2026.

Itineraries will visit Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, and Juneau, along with Victoria, B.C. and include scenic cruising in Tracy Arm.

“Guests from all over the world tell us they want to see Alaska’s beauty firsthand, which makes these itineraries the perfect addition to MSC Cruises’ global portfolio of bucket-list destinations,” said Lynn Torrent, executive vice president and chief commercial officer for MSC Cruises USA. “Seattle will be our fifth U.S. homeport, bringing our signature mix of European style and American comforts to the west coast as we continue to expand our offerings in the North American market.”

MSC Poesia’s seasonal repositioning between Miami and Seattle allows for two truly unique itineraries sailing through the Panama Canal at the start and end of the season. The first sailing departs from Miami on Thurs., April 23, 2026, and from Seattle on Mon., Sept. 28, 2026.

Royal Caribbean Cruises Reveals Vanuatu Plans

Before there were plans for Royal Beach Club Paradise Island, Royal Beach Club Cozumel, or Perfect Day Mexico, there were plans for Perfect Day at Lelepa an island in the Vanuatu archipelago in the South Pacific. First announced in 2019, the destination was set to replicate the success of Perfect Day at CocoCay.

Then the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and all mention of Lelepa vanished.

Until three days ago when Jason Liberty, CEO of Royal Caribbean Cruises, revealed the line’s new plans.

“We’re going to have the world beach clubs, one in Nassau. We’re going to have one in Cozumel, as well as in Vanuatu…”

Nothing else was said about Vanuatu, including when the destination is expected to open or even if construction has yet begun.

Royal Caribbean’s beach clubs will offer a Perfect Day-style atmosphere with several pools and restaurants, beaches, swim-up bars, live music, and more. Like Perfect Day, it will have multiple zones depending on what visitors want to do.

They will only be open to Royal Caribbean passengers and will cost extra to visit.

The first, Royal Beach Club Paradise Island, opens in 2025.

Virgin Voyages Reveals More Details of First-Ever Alaska Voyages. Pre-Sale Bookings Open November 13, 2024! Call 954-510-3337 to lock in your Stateroom early!!!

Virgin Voyages’ “Brilliant” Alaska cruises will feature stops in Ketchikan, Sitka, and Prince Rupert, B.C. among other ports, as well as scenic cruising in Tracy Arm. Itineraries, departing from Seattle and Vancouver, will range from seven to 12 nights.

In addition to the port calls, Virgin Voyages will make some onboard enhancements, including featuring locally sourced Alaska seafood in select venues.

The Alaska season onboard Brilliant Lady, 17 sailings in total, will operate between May and September 2026, with the first voyage departing May 21, 2026, from Seattle.

“We have incredibly high repeat rates, so our Sailors are always challenging us to seek new horizons; they always want to know ‘where else can we sail with Virgin?'” said Virgin Voyages’ CEO Nirmal Saverimuttu. “… The sold-out response to our Front(ier) of the Line passes earlier this year showed us just how sought after our Alaskan itineraries are.”

Access for presale passholders opens on Thurs., Oct. 31, 2025. Bookings for the general public open Nov. 13.

Eric is always there to help out, with questions, with booking changes, with flight info, with any concerns we had about our trip. He makes sure we have all our travel documents ahead of time so that we have peace of mind about it all. Plus he goes out of his way to ask for upgrades and pushes to make sure we have the best experience. With this cruise, we actually got upgraded at the last minute and we were very happy about it. It's wonderful working with Eric!

The excavations on the island are among the most extensive in the Mediterranean, Delos had a position as a holy sanctuary for a millennium before Olympian Greek Mythology made it the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis.
