New year, new travel trends. Here are a few ins & outs for 2024.

➡️In: Recommendations from trusted sources like Travel Advisors like me. 89% of consumers trust recommendations from people they know. Also working with a travel advisor means supporting a local business.
❌Out: Recommendations from random influencers. There is evidence of influencer fatigue among consumers.

➡️In: Slow travel/ Recharge vacation. 2024 has been called “the year of the great recharge”. In 2024 travelers are gravitating away from packed itineraries and becoming more wellness conscientious. Think on a beach vacation perhaps, spa and relaxation.
❌Out: Jam Packed Itineraries: Forbes and other sources indicate thet travelers are in favor of more loose plans to recharge.

➡️In: Go-ccasions. Travelers are using any excuse to justify celebratory group vacations and celebrate big Milestone on a destination.
❌Out: Celebrating big Milestones at home. One in four people want to celebrate their big Milestones with a trip instead of staying in home.

➡️In: Outfit repeating: Younger generations are increasingly focusing on sustainable fashion goals in 2024. The new trend includes buy fewer new clothes, repeat outfits and shop locally.
❌Out: Overpacking. Times reported that 45% of travelers are now choosing not to check any luggage while traveling.

Even though Mexico released a new very strict smoking law in January (where smoking is basically not allowed in any public area), most resorts still have smoking areas, and some of you will be bringing ci******es.

The limit for ci******es is 10 packs per person over 18 years old.

Also noteworthy, eci******es/vapes are not allowed into the country.

If they search you upon landing in Mexico and find you are violating the law (they are searching way more than ever before), you WILL be fined HUGE.

A colleague's mom recently brought an extra carton and was charged 19,000 MXN which is over $1,100.

Do NOT bring over 10 packs of ci******es. Do NOT bring eci******es or vapes.

Starting tomorrow, September 1, 2023, airlines will no longer be issuing the Immigration/Customs C5 forms in paper format. Forms must be completed online at https://enterjamaica.com/. Each person, regardless of age is required to submit or have a form submitted on his/her behalf. Forms may be completed up to 30 days prior to travel. If your information changes prior to boarding your flight, you should submit a new form.

2. Pick my brain sessions. This one I'm really excited about for those of you who have points to use, a rough itinerary already in place, etc. but want a little guidance to plan your own trip. I tried this a few times, and it worked out great on both sides of the transaction. You schedule a meeting and pay a consultation fee of $50 per hour. What do you get for $50? A better idea of what to expect in destination, how to arrange plans to your advantage, and tour/activity recommendations. We can also discuss travel insurance options to protect your vacation investment.

3. For those of you looking for fully planned concierge level service, custom built vacations (ex: multicity vacations) come with a planning fee because there is a hefty time commitment to plan all the details and be available after the sale to help with changes and any issues that might come up. The initial call to discuss your plans is always free. Once we chat about your ideas, I can let you know what the charge will be since everyone's needs are different.

4. Let me introduce you to Becky Madey. She is going to assist with Disney and Caribbean cruise vacation planning services going forward. Bringing her onboard is a huge benefit to my clients! She knows everything about Disney. I'm not kidding, everything. Plus she cruises at least a couple times per year. To be quite frank, I'll be the first to tell you I do not like ocean cruises😁, and my love for Walt Disney World is still strong but my first hand insight is not what it used to be.
