Groovy, rad, boogie down man! Disney’s Pop Century Resort has always been a popular Value Resort since it opened in late 2003 and for good reason. Check these features out!

The 80s was an era of timeless blockbusters, unforgettable characters, and classic movie magic that defined a generation. Now, imagine reliving those memories today...and even with your kids!

During Universal Studios’ Mega Movie Parade, you can immerse yourself in the nostalgia of your favorite 80s films! From E.T. and Back to the Future to Ghostbusters and Jaws, this parade and each incredible float pays homage to the movies that shaped Gen X.

Universal really gets us Gen Xers. Of course, logically, we know some attractions become too tired and need replacing, but it still hurts when we have to say goodbye. Universal helps fill that hole in our hearts with sweet, nostalgic fun like this! I’m not alone here, right? This was a fantastic idea, don’t you think?

PRO TIP: Watch the parade in the Hollywood section of the park. You get to see the parade first and then can get back to riding rides while everyone else is still waiting around the park to see the parade.

Hold onto your hats (and steering wheels), folks! Mr. Toad's Wild Ride at Disneyland is still as wacky and wild as ever! This quirky fan favorite has been taking us on a bizarre journey through Toad Hall (and beyond) for decades now. The story is a little odd, OK, a lot odd, but that’s part of its charm, right?

With all the newer high-tech rides now, maybe this feisty old-school character keeps us grounded in nostalgia and reminds us that attractions like this were once innovative, and we were in awe of them. Or is it time to make way for something new in Fantasyland?

While I love Mr. Toad's Wild Ride because it's an original opening day attraction and because it is so wacky, the ride completely freaked out my 18-year-old son. 🤣

Alright, YOU be the judge! Is it time for Mr. Toad to go on his last weird and wild ride, or would Disneyland never be the same without him?

The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is now in full swing so let’s chat a little about those food kiosk offerings. Not everyone is a foodie and some of those menu items can sound a little scary. For the less adventurous, here’s a list of more simple small plates I think you’ll enjoy:

🌀Hurricanes, tropical storms, and tropical depressions, OH MY!

Cruising during hurricane season will give you the lowest prices, but there’s a reason for that. If this is the best time of year for you and your crew, here are a few helpful tips:

⛈️Hurricane season officially goes from June through November. If you are considering August, September, and October, know you are likely looking at the highest possibility of weather issues. Sailings out of Florida to the Caribbean will be the most impacted.
🛡️Get travel protection! Just do it - no matter when you sail
✈️Book flights early in the day for less chance of cancellations or delays. Also, arrive at least one day before embarkation day if flights get canceled or delayed. You may have to hop in a car and hit the road!
✌️Go with the flow! Cruise lines reallllllly don’t want to cancel sailings, so they will do all they can to avoid that, including
changing itineraries to avoid weather issues.

Don’t let this time of year scare you away, though! The weather is usually lovely and warm, and prices typically can’t be beat. Just go into it with knowledge and a game plan. Have you cruised during hurricane season before? Do you have another tip to share with us?

🤷‍♀️The Disney difference...what does that even mean? I don’t think this app allows enough characters to express the Disney difference in its entirety, but I can show you this as a perfect example.

🚢 On the Disney Wish (the newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet), Worlds of Marvel is part of the rotational dining trio of restaurants. (This means it’s included in the cruise fare and doesn’t cost extra.) 🕵️‍♀️ Before you even order from the Top Secret menu filled with Ant-Man’s sketches and notes, take notice of the Avengers logo silverware and plate 🍽️, the Quantum Core devices on the tables and large screens. They all play a part in this immersive, interactive dining experience that utilizes special effects to enrich a theatrical dining experience and is also a character meal. Pair all of this with a thoughtful and on-brand menu, and well, that’s an example of the Disney difference. 🍩 Now about that Top Secret menu...

🍍🗿🌺🏰 East Coast park pros who are worried they won’t feel some of that same resort magic when they visit Disneyland, fear not...the Disneyland Hotel sees you. Whether you're all about sticking to your diet, managing allergies, or just savvy about saving money, Disneyland sees you. This shady haven, complete with large lockers you can rent to hold your provisions and supplies, is located just outside Disneyland Park and just a short walk from Disney California Adventure. Hauling your food around isn’t always easy, but Disneyland makes it so convenient!
