The coldest day of the week (yes it was cold for us Floridians!) 🥶brought wind and completely empty beaches and waterways. 🏝️🐬 but the dolphins showed up and what a show it was. We even spotted a BABY dolphin calf 🥰

⭐️ Look what we see under our dock at low tides, Seastars! ⭐️

🐠 Starfish or Seastars? They don’t have gills, scales or fins like a fish does, so they aren’t classified as a fish! They also have no brain, and no blood! They use filtered water to pump nutrients through their body!

🌟 There’s about 2000 species of Seastars and they can live up to 35 years. Some even weigh up to 11 pounds!

🦪🍴 Seastars eat clams, shells and mussels. They have a stomach that actually comes out of their body to eat their prey, it’ll re enter their body when they’re all done! (That little hole in the middle underside)

Seastars should always be left in the water, just like sand dollars. Since they breathe saltwater, they can suffocate if out of the water for too long! 🏝️

WOW! 🤩 yesterday was absolutely BEAUTIFUL out on the water for this family. We had such an amazing dolphin show all day 🐬🩵😍 always watch dolphins while in neutral, and try to avoid engaging in any actions that may change their behavior (keeping in line with the MMPA of 1972). 🏝️🍻

🛟 This first photo popped up in my personal memories on Facebook from a few years ago. So wild, how nature changes everything it might touch. The power of water and waves should never be under estimated. South Florida is watching this future storm Sara. We are extremely over hurricanes, and just hoping it sizzles out or goes elsewhere. Too early to tell. 🌊

These daughters spent some wonderful time with mom on a girls trip to the area 🏝️👯‍♀️ dolphins, lots of birds (eagles, ospreys, shorebirds) and a relaxing swim at the beach. 🐚🐬 we ended with a drop at for lunch - come on out the weathers been great!

These ladies had a blast shelling 🐚 found a bunch of sand dollars, as well as a big bag of trash we took off the beach 🏝️ the weather has been perfect! 🐬☀️
