The long hot summer is over and it’s time to go sailing!! We had a beautiful trip last evening and the sunset was gorgeous. Also saw a dolphin multiple times as he lazily trolled for his dinner.
I think I speak for all our passengers that it is one of the most lovely ways to explore our natural environment.
As we celebrate the autumnal equinox today, the days will get shorter - but it makes for the perfect season to enjoy some time on the water. Discover your peace on the Copacetic as you experience the sun on your face and the breeze in your hair!

What a great night out on the water with a fabulous group of people! It was even a bit chilly, which is a nice change for us here. Sunset sailing is just as great now as it was before Ian came for a visit. Www.copaceticsailing.com promo code Joinus11-22 is good for 20% off this week!

This beautiful sunset photo was taken of Copacetic Sailing's Owner, Captain Joel Andrews and fellow Captain Frankie while onboard the Copacetic last Friday night, yes post Hurricane Ian! These two gentlemen, along with many other helping hands, have been hard at work to get this boat back in tip top shape to take you sailing. It has been once again coast guard certified and the crew has recharted our local waters. We are reopening this weekend for sunset sails, use our promo code: Joinus11-22 to receive 20% your sail for the next two weeks at www.copaceticsailing.com
Please share this post to help keep our local sailors out on our local SWFL waters, which they have happily sailed for 50+ years!

To our Copacetic family - we’re back in the water! Captain Joel, Captain Art, and Captain Franke made remarkable progress this week with painting, making repairs, and patching some minor fiberglass (it didn’t even puncture the hulls!)
In addition, The Getaway Marina has kept up a terrific pace of repairs/rebuild so we are lucky to have a new dock and a refurbished parking lot!
We’ll keep you posted on Facebook and Instagram as we come closer to reopening for Evening Sunset Sails, Day Sails, and Private Charters.
Our next work is to run a few sea trials and re-chart our local waters. We hope and pray for a return to sailing sometime in early November!!
Lastly, thank you for all of your support. We gain strength from each of your messages and phone calls! We hope you are rebuilding also, and returning to some semblance of normal. It will be wonderful to see you onboard soon.

Bob runs the best damn marina in SWFL. Any of you guys who need a spot to birth and are looking for an honest and hard working marina owner… look no farther than Getaway Marina at Pelican Bay. This marina knows how to get things done and is going to be the best spot in the area once she is gussied up post Ian.

With a little effort, a little luck, and a lot of trust, the Copacetic was lifted off the dock and onto dry land for some much needed repairs and a new paint job!! We’ll be sailing again as soon as possible - we sure hope you will join us 🥰⛵️

This is the Copacetic Sailing cat, the only boat that didn't end up in the mangroves across the street. She was lifted off her perch on top of the docks today, and will hopefully be launched again next week after repairs.

Our marina was leveled... This marina was home to dozens and dozens of boats large and small. All working boats, ran by small family operators. They are all gone. Washed more than 100+ yards across the highway flung deep into the mangroves. All washed away... all except one. The 'Copacetic' was the only remaining boat at our marina! My father built a strong and seaworthy vessel; a storm worthy vessel! There she sits, high atop her perch (she landed over top of the docks as the surge receded). What's more unbelievable is that she's virtually unscathed! It's a testament to her sound construction and the experience we have in preparing for foul weather. Still... given the sustained 150mph wind, it's not lost on us that the fact she remains is nothing short of a miracle!

To our loving and valued customers who have reached out to check up on us, we thank you and know this... We WILL sail again! It will take some work within our community to rebuild the infrastructure, the hotels, the roads, and get things back to the way they were, but it will happen; and when it does, WE will be there right beside you... to watch that breathtaking sunset onboard our strong and beautiful catamaran. Until then my friends....

We are happy to welcome back our friends from “up north”! In addition to our travelers, the White Pelicans have returned once again to winter with us in Pelican Bay, where Copacetic is docked!! These original “snow birds” return year after year and are beautiful sight. They are about three times as large as the gray pelicans, and every bit as graceful.
We hosted a yoga sail today on this absolutely perfect calm and peaceful morning and got to see the pelicans both as we left the dock, and upon our return!

This time of year with mid afternoon thunderstorms brings with it some of the most beautiful sunsets! The clouds break just in time for the sun to slowly sink into the Gulf of Mexico and those sun rays bounce off the remnants of the storms from earlier in the day making the most vibrant and radiant colors. It never gets old. There is no place I’d rather be than on the deck of the ‘Copacetic’ taking it all in! www.copaceticsailing.com

The past week has brought warm weather and fantastic sailing conditions! With temperatures in the 80’s while the rest of the country freezes, It’s definitely that time of year that I appreciate living in paradise down here... So, leave your jacket at home, come join us for a sail, and feel the warmth of our SWFL sun! Psst... Don’t forget to wear your sunscreen! Copaceticsailing.com
