Didnβt want to go in the water anyway! ππ³
Sometimes the best relationship is a long-distance relationship...especially when it comes to wildlife.
Many visitors come to the park to see the American crocodile in the northern extent of their range. As with all wildlife, observing these reptiles is best done from a distance. Here are some tips to keep you, and crocodiles, safe.
πDo not disturb crocodiles: Your actions should not alter a crocodileβs behavior.
π«Do not feed crocodiles (or any wildlife): Not only does this disrupt an animal's natural instincts and can lead to them becoming accustomed to the food source, but it also is illegal to do so in the state of Florida.
πBe cautious: Crocodiles live in brackish to salty water. Be cautious if you are near, or on, the water.
Observe from a distance: Use a telephoto lens.
By keeping these safety tips in mind, you can help to ensure any crocodile encounters are safe ones.
