The common marsh rabbit is found throughout Florida. It is actually a strong swimmer! They will often dive underwater to escape a predator. You can see them in marshes and swamps of coastal waters.

Fort Myers Beach will once again be hosting a fireworks display on New Year’s Eve though this year promises to be bigger and better thanks to generous donations. The fireworks will start at midnight from a barge in the Gulf. Bridge Closure: The Matanzas Pass Bridge will begin closing to oncoming traffic at 11:45 p.m. and will be closed until 1:30 a.m. Big Carlos Pass Bridge on the south end of the Island will be open.

Parking: There is limited parking on the island, therefore, please plan accordingly. Town parking is available on a first come, first served basis. Town parking spaces can be found in and near the Downtown District, beach accesses, and there are also several commercial lots. Parking on the beach is prohibited.

Restrooms: The Town provides restroom facilities at Palm Ave., Center St., and Times Square.

Who's ready to spot a manatee? You can see manatee's anytime in Florida but they are more commonly seen from November to March. We see them at Lover's Key State Park.
Another great spot is Manatee Park on the Orange River in Fort Myers.
