Our very own Performance experts, Trevor Eidsen and Kimmie Fontenot, recently had the opportunity to lead a 2-part training centered on Energy Management with 1-5 AVN BN.

The training started with a morning PT, where SM’s were teamed up and tasked with completing strenuous physical exercises followed by a series of riddles and trivia questions. Shifting quickly from physical tasks to cognitive tasks challenged Soldiers’ abilities to self-regulate their energy levels for optimal performance.

The PT was followed by a classroom training that addressed how energy levels play a part in outcomes of performance. SM’s were taught tools for managing energy levels effectively, such as Individual Zone of Optimal Functioning (IZOF), Interpreting Physical Reactions, and Priming Emotions.

Last Week, our Performance Experts, Janeane Hernandez and Trevor Eidsen, visited Toledo Bend and delivered a classroom training on Self-Regulation and Communication as part of the 32nd Hospital Center Medical Brigade Leadership Summit.

Senior leaders of the brigade had the opportunity to discuss the role that self-regulation and communication play in effective leadership. SM’s were introduced to several mental skills such as proactive ATC, thought replacement, styles of communication, and the 3 C’s of Communication.

The R2PC team would like to thank 32nd Hospital Center for inviting us to be apart of this Leadership Summit. We look forward to future collaboration with this group!

Last week, our Performance Experts Janeane Hernandez, Kimmie Rushford, and Rogibson Pierre conducted a PT session centered around the themes of trust and communication with the SM’s of 115th Field Hospital. Soldiers worked together to complete physical exercises followed by challenging cognitive activities, including the Blindfolded Obstacle Course, Telestrations, Triangulations, and Flip Tarp Challenge. The PT session was successful in demonstrating the importance of how messages are received and interpreted between Soldiers and how well they trust one another. We look forward to more events and future collaboration with 115th!

Last week, our Performance Experts Rogibson Pierre and Janeane Hernandez conducted a team-oriented PT session with the SM’s of 2-4 Infantry Guardian Company. This PT session was created with the intent of improving problem solving skills, building team cohesion, and boosting morale. In collaboration with Chaplain Duhon’s “Spiritual Fitness Fridays”, the Soldiers were led through a series of stations in which they were required to complete physical exercises followed by challenging cognitive activities, including Cup Stack, Triangulations, Stroop Test, and Perfect Shape. Each station targeted the Soldiers’ abilities to work together to think critically, creatively, and on their feet.

Here’s what CPT Jefferson had to say about it: “R2PC addressed their intent by conducting a problem-solving PT. The Intent was met, and it was helpful. I think it drove the point of communication. We had a good time! Thanks for setting it up!”

Last week Performance Expert Rogibson Pierre fulfilled a training request to the Soldiers of 1-5AV. They requested a SME to come facilitate a discussion on Energy Management to improve the unit’s ability to conserve energy and deal with stressors in a more effective way. He introduced energy management and included specific techniques that Soldiers can utilize to navigate the problems and stressors faced in their line of work and beyond. These Soldiers are now able to reinterpret stressful situations, focus on the controllables, and get “Just Right” no matter what challenge comes their way.

This week, our Performance Experts Kimmie Rushford, Rogibson Pierre, Trevor Eidsen, and Janeane Hernandez conducted team-oriented PT sessions with the SM’s of 5-25 A-Battery. These PT sessions were created with the intent of building team cohesion, resiliency, and boosting morale upon returning from the field. Because collaborative problem solving and creative thinking are shown to improve team cohesion, our Performance Experts came up with a 6-station riddle relay race. At each of the 6 stations, teams were given an entrance riddle to test army knowledge, a PT exercise, and an exit riddle that included pop culture or trivia questions. The team that worked through the 6 stations the fastest won! We had a great time and look forward to more events like this in the future!
