Travelers got a taste of it in 2021 – and now it looks like online passport renewal might be here to stay.

In June of 2024, the U.S. Department of State launched a beta test for renewing passports online. Eligible U.S. citizens can now apply online during limited time periods each day. Once the application quota for the day is met, the renewal portal will close until the next business day.

As the saying goes…“Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet, nor hail shall keep the postmen from their appointed rounds.”

Show of hands… how many of us mindlessly scarf down lunch while answering emails or drafting reports? We are ALL guilty of trying to cram a little more work into our days!

But skipping the comradery of the cafeteria or simply stepping away from our screens to eat can actually decrease productivity.

National Take Back the Lunch Break Day reminds us to disconnect for at least a half hour – take your PB&J outside, chat up a colleague over chicken, or just take a minute to reset with some leftover rice.

It’s National Leave the Office Early Day!

National Leave the Office Early Day is the brainchild of Laura Stack, an employee productivity specialist. She noted that Americans work about 49 hours each week – nearly 350 more each year than our European counterparts.

However, not all of those hours are productive, and giving employees an incentive to improve efficiency and productivity is just the carrot some need. Allowing workers to go home once their tasks are complete has been shown to benefit both employees and employers.
