Part of the Brooks Bridge Replacement Project includes constructing a new configuration of Brooks Street near downtown Fort Walton Beach.

Here is an aerial view of the new realignment of Brooks Street under construction. Shifting this segment of the roadway slightly south will provide space for the future foundation of the Brooks Bridge.

The new configuration is expected to be open to drivers in a one-way configuration, from Florida Blanca Place to Perry Avenue, later this month.

This work is part of the $171-million Brooks Bridge Replacement Project that includes constructing two new, parallel bridges that will increase capacity to six travel lanes from the current four-lane bridge that opened in 1966. Project completion is estimated for summer 2027.

It's a busy, festive Holiday weekend at Harborwalk Village! The Destin Boat Parade will kick off at 6pm on Sunday Dec 10, with lighted / decorated boats on display up and down the Harbor, followed by a fireworks 💥 show & fire spinning! 🔥

Mistletoe Market 11am-6pm Saturday and 11am-8pm on Sunday

☔️⛈️💧Some pockets of heavy rain and storms will be rolling through this afternoon. The heaviest lightning activity seems to pass East and West of the area. If you’re out Christmas shopping today, take it slow, give yourself some extra time. The roads will be wet and pooling of water will be occurring in some areas. 💧💧

Don't forget the 45th Annual Destin Seafood Festival is happening THIS weekend! The entire festival is F R E E to attend, you only need a ticket for the VIP area (next to Brotulas).

Friday: 4pm-10pm
Saturday: 10am-10pm
Sunday: 10am-6pm

Harborwalk will have tons of vendors, activities for kids, artists, and of course - seafood! Come out and walk the full 1 mile stretch from HarborWalk Village all the way down to Heron Harbor!

This was the most beautiful, modern condo my family has ever stayed in (we take beach vacations every year)!! This condo was also very clean upon arrival, 5 stars for sure! The beds were very comfortable, even at 6 months pregnant! The view was stunning, and the beach chairs and umbrella was definitely a plus for our 2 year old! I could go on and on about how perfect this condo was! The only downfall was that the pool was closed the whole time we were on vacation, but we were given a refund for the loss of that amenity which was so sweet of the host. We can’t wait to visit this condo again in the future!

We literally loved it all!! Everything was truly amazing. The condo was beautifully renovated and the best stocked kitchen I have ever seen. Beach access was perfect. The balcony was perfectly set with 2 high tables and 4 chairs. Complete with a box full of toys for the beach if you have children or just want to play in the sand. I added to the collection with a pink net to fish with as well as two net bags for collecting sea shells. The location was PERFECT! There was a Tom Thumb convenience store right next door to the condos that was perfect for last minute purchases w/o having to drive across the bridge to the Publix or Walmart. They even sold boogie boards and inflated our floats for us free of charge. Great people all around. Beth at Vacasa was wonderful and checked on us almost daily to make sure we had everything we needed. We had two beautiful, walk-in showers one in the master bathroom and I big walk-in shower in the second bathroom beautiful Decour and beautiful furniture and might I add the beds were very comfortable as they had Tempur-pedic mattresses, I can’t express enough how much we enjoyed this condo and we will be back.
