Magic Kingdom Kiss Goodnight.
If you happen to be in the Magic Kingdom after it closes, you might get to see the kiss goodnight. It is Disney's way of saying goodnight and thanks for visiting.
Like I mentioned before, I like staying in the parks at night. If you are one of those that rush out of the gates right after the last event or fireworks and make a mad dash to the busses or boats, you are making a grave mistake. What you get when you rush out with so many others is a chance to hurry up..... and wait. Whether it is at the bus stop, the dock, the monorail station, or parking lot, leaving the park right at close is almost a guarantee you will be standing in a boring line somewhere with a lot of other people waiting. One of the amazing things about Disney is just because the park has closed and the fireworks are over, doesn't mean they kick you out. The stores are often open late after the park closes and someone, somewhere is still in line for a ride. One night while at Magic Kingdom the wait time for the 7 Dwarfs Mine queue 5 minutes before the park closed was 48 minutes. That told me that I had at least 48 minutes that I could enjoy the park. Often the stores stay open 30-60 minutes later anyway, so I knew I had time. On a trip about 3 years ago, Michella and I were in the Magic Kingdom taking a leisurely stroll out of the park and we experienced the Kiss Goodnight. At the time we had heard of the kiss goodnight, but never experienced it. It is nothing huge, just one of those great touches of Disney. It usually stars 1 hour after park closing.(and can get repeated every 30 minutes on some nights)
What is the Kiss Goodnight? It is Disney's polite way of telling you it is time to go. No big announcements saying "the Park is now closed" They politely thank you for visiting and wish you a safe trip. Have a look. This is just another example of the attention to small details and the great customer service that causes me to visit Disney each year. Have any of you been able to see the Kiss Goodnight? What is your favorite park after dark?
Main Street Electrical Parade. One great parade. I always enjoy it when they have it right at closing and you stay in the park after it closes to watch a parade. This is on my to do list. What would be the first thing you did if you were going to be at Walt Disney World tomorrow?
Can't wait to see this again.
#tbt This was filmed on one of our trips(2002-2004) The Share A Dream Come True Parade was my favorite daytime Magic Kingdom Parade. I loved the big snow globe look, all the costumes, and music. That being said I have yet to see Festival of Fantasy Parade and I do like the steampunk look. We will have to see what I think after our trip coming up. What Disney parade memory do you have?
How about a throwback parade for throwback Thursday? This was one of my favorite parades. It also was from our first trip to WDW in 2002. In fact, Disney's Hollywood Studios was called Disney's MGM Studios back then. #ThrowbackThursday
