Big Squaw Ski Mountain opens on Friday🏂⛷❗
(Just 15 minutes from the condo😁)
WHAT TO EXPECT????
❄️ A chill and local vibe at one of the most beautiful parts of Maine, specializing in outdoor winter recreation.
❄️ If you feel ill with symptoms of any kind, have had direct exposure to a confirmed positive Covid case or travelled outside of Maine, NH & VT in the past 14 days, please postpone your ski visit until another time.
❄️ Be prepared to use your car as your base lodge. This means you will boot up, change and store extra gear in your car. No cubbies or indoor gear storage. Parents, please make sure your child has adult supervision as lodge operations will function quite differently this season.
❄️ Lodge access will be limited. Tickets and rentals will be sold outside. Tickets will be limited to 350/day. Preference given to those who reserve tickets online @ tickets.skibigsquaw.com
❄️ The front entrance is for bathroom use only. Portable toilets will also be on site for outdoor use.
❄️ Ski, snowboard & snowshoe rentals are available. Prior to your first visit please print and complete the rental agreement. Especially your shoe size, height, weight, age & ability. Forms will be kept on file for future visits after initial fittings. Renters may drive right to the ski shop for passenger drop off and temporary parking during the fitting. www.skibigsquaw.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/Rental-Form-2020.pdf
❄️ Northwoods Food Group will be on site serving up your favorite mountain beverages and snacks at the Big Moose Deli. We will allow 25 guests through the slopeside entrance every 30 minutes. Please keep your lodge visits as brief as possible to allow spacing for other guests.
❄️ Portable shelters will be allowed on the Canada Falls Trail, a ski in ski out location near the activities. No generators please! Also no pets. Shelters must be removed daily after skiing.
❄️ Please keep 6 foot distancing from other guests. Face coverings are required at all times. The tolerance will be minimal on this.
❄️ Arrive together and ride together. These people are your tribe. If you did not arrive in a vehicle together or live in the same household, please do not ride the lift together.
❄️ We will not be offering any ski lessons during our opening weekend. During school vacation week private or family lessons will be offered for children ages seven and above. Instructors will not be allowed to ride the lift with your child.
❄️ The season is certainly different. It will be short, but sweet. If you cannot arrive with a good attitude and a thankful heart, it’s probably best you stay home. We are a small group with limited staff in a rural community, just doing our best to keep this mountain going.
❄️ We certainly welcome your suggestions to keep this operation running a smooth as possible. Send us a message or offer to help. We love making new Friends!
