Captain Bruce Shane and wife Karen operate Rig and Roll Charters

Captain Bruce is licensed by the US Coast Guard with a masters credential and has 40 years of experience and boat ownership fishing on the great lakes for both Walleye and Salmon. We fish Lake Erie in the early and late spring around the famous reef complex west of Port Clinton targeting trophy Walleye. Later in the summer we move our boat to beautiful Frankfort Michigan to target Salmon and Trout

. By fishing these locations at their peak times we are optimizing on the catching opportunities for the target species. Our goal is to share our experience and expertise with you, we will strive to provide you with a comfortable and relaxing fishing experience. So come aboard and experience the thrill and excitement of Great Lakes big-game fishing at its best!

Got a chance to fish a couple of trips participating in the Fall Brawl Walleye Derby thanks to my friend Keith, we managed to catch several nice ones however the Derby winners are most likely still out there swimming around. ,

Salmon fishing was really good this year in Frankfort with a lot of fun trips with some great people. Thanks to all who fished with Rig and Roll Charters, and we hope to see you again next year. It's not too early to book for next year, we will start chasing Walleye in Lake Erie from mid-April to mid-June and then Salmon from July to September.

Kings are showing up in Frankfort, bonus over the weekend was a nice Brown trout, thanks to Jim and Jeff for the Frankfort harbor pictures, one in the evening featuring the Frankfort Light House the other the city in early morning with glow spoons in the foreground.

Walleye fishing should be exceptional in 2024 on Lake Erie with trophy fish available from the 2015 and previous hatches that could reach 30” and over 10 pounds! We will be targeting these trophies this spring near the reef complexes in the Western Basin. The more recent record year classes should provide lots of good “eater” size walleyes. Results from Lake Erie trawl surveys have shown that walleye hatches were exceptional the last 6 years!.

Variety of quality fish being caught this year so far, Steelhead Trout, Lake Trout, and King Salmon are all present off Frankfort Michigan in 100 to 200 Ft. of water, recent south west winds have has finally warmed up the water and thermocline yesterday was around 80 ft down, beach lovers up here are finally getting some swimmable temperatures.
