Some days we get so busy in our daily lives that we forget to slow down and breath. Today was a day of productivity to help move my business forward to the next level.
🍄 Fair warning this is going to be a long post. But one that I feel called to share.
❤️ Today I spent time doing more work to the shop, doing some much needed spring cleaning, rearranging and getting things done that I have wanted to do for a long while. As a single mom, my days and time gets split up between building my business from the heart, doctors appointments for my daughter, homeschooling, running my household, and making sure that I take care of myself. For me it is every day life. My massage and esthetic business has been a long time dream. When I started my massage career in 2006. I wanted to have a business that was mind, body, and soul focused. That is still what I want for my business, just in a different way.
My career has had ups and downs. A lot of trials and errors. I have taken each situation as a lesson of learning. The dream for my business has stayed the same. To help others. What has changed is that I have grown, I have learnt many lessons and now share them to help others.
Life gets busy, routines form and sometimes things take longer than what we want it to be. I wanted my business years ago. Life happened and I spent many years working for others. I do still work for another location by choice, it provides me the stability that I need to make sure my business grows and becomes my vision.
🧜♀️ Today was a day like any other. Expect for one thing. As I am getting projects off of my to do list in my shop, I had a realization.
My business might be taking longer to get every thing the way I want it to be, but that is totally ok. Rome wasn't built in a day.
I realized that my massage shop literally tells my life story. When I started the planning for this location, it was not planned out to tell my story. It was a way to get my own business again, and to share my skills and knowledge with the people in Pendleton county and surrounding areas. It was an idea to honor a couple of things that was important to me.
I looked around today and found stories from my life in every piece of my business.
From my business name all the way down to the gnome village setting among my plants. My life growing up was full of chaos, insecurities, constantly moving, and never knowing what was around the corner. I never felt like I had roots, or a place to call home.
That changed when we moved to Pendleton County. I feel at home here. I feel like I can make roots here. I know I have ancestral connections to the county that I am learning more about. But that is a story for another day.
I feel blessed to see reminders of my daughters and the life that we have created. I feel blessed to see pieces of my family history. I feel blessed to create roots, and stability. This all coming together, was never planned by me. It has pieced its self together. For me that is a gift from God. I know its hard some times to remember that it is in his time not ours. And looking around today as I was knocking down my to do list. I felt so grateful for this opportunity and for the community.
I am very thankful to every one that has contributed to this dream coming true. I know more is coming in the near future. More pieces are coming together adding to a foundation that I have wanted for a very long time.
Thank you to every one that has helped me along the way.
Remember some times we have to stop and breath, quiet our minds and look at life with a different set of eyes, a different point of view. What we see and learn might surprise you. It sure did for me today.
Thank you.
