Our Story

Since 1996, when Aubrey Preston and others in the Leiper’s Fork community started this program, thousands of kids have come through the Kids On Stage Summer Academy. Over two hundred thousand dollars in scholarships have been awarded over the years, and Kids On Stage alumni include Miley Cyrus, members of the band Paramour, hit soul singer Ke$ha, Taylor Ware (America’s Got Talent finalist), Jordyn Shellhart (Sony Recording Artist), Jasmine (Disney’s “Next Big Thing” winner), Chase Goehring (Current America's Got Talent), and Mackenzie Wasner (American Idol), just to name a few.

Kids On Stage Summer Academy has inspired dozens of other thriving music and arts programs in Williamson County, and there are hundreds of KOS alumni who are actively working in the music and arts industry today as producers, engineers, studio musicians, songwriters, lighting designers, visual and graphic artists, painters, photographers, and other related fields.
