Looking back on our Oahu trip, I want to start sharing what we experienced. This is the famous Waikiki Beach- one of the most loved beaches for sunbathers and surfers alike. The day we arrived to Oahu, we crammed all of our luggage into our rental sedan in Tetris-like fashion and proceeded to the nearest grocery store for snacks, breakfast items and essential beverages 🍾🍹🍺. This is the way to go and widely acceptable at all resorts. Everyone arrives with either Costco, Walmart or the local Foodland bags in preparation for their week of fun. Of course, dining out and indulging in Mai Tais is necessary, too! From here, we checked into our hotel, ate and b-lined to the beach. It was about 6:45pm and sunset was in full effect. The beach, with temperature similar to that of a warm bath was hopping with surfers, little ones playing and families settled into their viewing spots for the color display that would occur in the next hour. We were in heaven. Here we started in Milwaukee and 15 hours later we are sitting on Waikiki Beach! A place we’ve only seen second hand. It was a very happy and emotional feeling all at once 🤗 This was the perfect introduction to what was ahead of us for the next 10 days and I look forward to posting more of our days.
