Visit the Washington Parish Library for a backpack, then hit the Bogue Chitto State Park.

Need a fun holiday activity for the family? Participating libraries have this great new program called, "Check Out Louisiana State Parks" for free! This pilot program allows patrons in 18 parishes to borrow a day pass to any state park or historic site using just your library card.

You can also check out Geaux Explore backpacks filled with binoculars, compasses, and nature guides to enhance your outdoor adventures!

Participating parishes include Calcasieu, Claiborne, East Baton Rouge, Evangeline, Iberville, Jackson, Jefferson, Livingston, Morehouse, Richland, St. Martin, St. Mary, St. Tammany, Union, Vermilion, Vernon, Washington, and Webster parishes. CheckOutLouisiana.org

It's that time of year again! The holidays are amongst us! The Pioneer Christmas at the Washington Parish Fair Grounds will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 10 a.m. till 8 p.m. and Sunday, December 8, 2024 from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. We are looking forward to the upcoming events in Washington Parish having the Pioneer Christmas as one of our favorites. We will have booths in the Commercial Building at the Fair Grounds with our raffles and other items that we will sell. This event is our largest fundraiser for the year! So please come out and help support us as well as other vendors.
