Fredericksburg is a magical place around the Holidays. The nightly Christmas story is told starting the day before Thanksgiving and the Parade is the first weekend of December! It's the 40th Oktoberfest in Texas' favorite German town. Sorry New Braunfels, you're a close second. Fun Fact: The early settlers of Fredericksburg came over from Germany, went to New Braunfels and then settled the land between the two creeks!

The longleaf pine floors in the bedrooms are the OG. The boards in the upstairs hall are old too but our floor guy harvested them from a building in Mason. The black and white photos on canvas are from around town.

Old Tunnel State Park should be on your to-do list from May through October. The abandoned railroad tunnel that gives Old Tunnel its name is home to up to 3 million Mexican free-tailed bats. It's a short 12-mile drive south from Fritztown 1910. Not to be missed!
