“ Spacious and great for our group of five adults and one toddler. Awesome backyard, big kitchen, and good bathrooms. Easy to get to Main Street (quick drive) and about a 10 minute walk. Good home base for wine tastings, exploring town, and golf at Lady Bird and Boot Ranch. If traveling with similar number of people we would stay here again.”

At the Blue Door Haus, we have a guest book. We have had so many special guests write in the book, telling us about their girls weekends, bachelorette parties, family holiday getaways, and more. Yup, this was our boy when we were choosing the right shade of blue for the Blue Door Haus. It's been a few years and we are still so happy to have made this a family affair.

When we travel, we like having our son with us. He's 9 now, but when he was smaller, we wanted to have a place that was comfortable and allowed for us to spread out. We wanted it to be kid friendly, but still stylish. We wanted to be able to put him to bed and then have the rest of the evening to watch tv or enjoy a glass of wine on the patio (instead of being in one hotel room).

From that mindset, we created this vacation rental. Plenty of room to spread out, clean, kid-friendly, and comfortable...and only a 3-minute drive to Main Street in beautiful Fredericksburg, Texas!

Have you been to Hill and Vine? This is one of our favorite places to visit in Fredericksburg. We always get the biscuit and cornbread box as a starter and we love choosing new and exciting dishes for our entrees each time.

I recently went on a weekend during brunch and the BLT was incredible!

Have you been to Martini's in Fredericksburg, Texas?

We were able to stop in recently and WHAT.A.MEAL!

We found a table in the corner, listened to great music, and took in this special place. Lobster bisque for a starter and a spicy lobster roll and surf and turf filet (steak and lobster) for our entrees. So delicious!

And the extra great thing? Our Blue Door Haus is only a 5-minute drive from here!

PLACES WE LOVE: Vaudeville If you’re looking for an elevated menu that can deliver, you HAVE to check out Vaudeville on Main Street (just 5 minutes from the Blue Door Haus)! We went to lunch here recently and were blown away by the vast selection of food and drinks. We started with a Charcuterie & Fromage board and split a Reuben on Rye. The great thing about it?
