New Requirements for travelers visiting or transiting on flights via New Zealand

The New Zealand government is introducing a new travel authority for people travelling to and transiting through New Zealand. From 1 October 2019 travelers from visa waiver countries will need to request VISA before they travel. New Zealand and Australian passport holders are not required to have a VISA as they are exempt.

The VISA will last for two years, or until the passport expires. Travelers from visa waiver countries will need a VISA for transit through New Zealand, as well as for visiting New Zealand.

Tomorrow (Tuesday, June 23) a big change is coming to San Francisco International Airport: The opening of the new Harvey Milk Terminal 1, pictured above.
If you fly to, from or through SFO regularly, and especially if you are a low fare flier, be sure you are aware these 5 essential things:
1- Starting July 23, Southwest and JetBlue, two of the most prominent low-fare carriers in the Bay Area, will crank up operations at nine gates in the modern new terminal. The biggest change will be for JetBlue customers—its flights will move from the International terminal to the new Harvey Milk Terminal 1. Southwest flights will remain in Terminal 1, but will move from the current interim boarding area to the new facility overnight.
2- Eventually, American and Hawaiian Airlines, as well as discounters Frontier and Sun Country, will move in to the new space. American moves from its current home in SFO's Terminal 2 in March 2020—at that time it will open an enormous new Admirals Club on the second level. Hawaiian, Frontier and Sun Country should be moved in by 2023.
3- After going through security in the new terminal, you'll see a 380-foot wall that includes art, photos, notes and other mementos depicting the life and times of Harvey Milk, the pioneering civil rights activist and San Francisco supervisor.
4- Harvey Milk Terminal 1 is comprised of two separate projects: Boarding Area B and T1 Center, which refers to a new ticket counter area and central security checkpoint. The first nine-gate section of Boarding Area B opens July 23, and in March 2020 SFO will open an additional nine gates on Boarding Area B, along with half of T1 Center. The only area of the current Terminal 1 to remain will be Boarding Area C, where Delta operates. By 2024, both boarding areas will be connected by a post-security corridor. Currently, fliers must exit and re-enter security to walk between boarding areas B and C.
5- The project will also provide a new behind-security connection to the nearby International Terminal (A side), which will provide gate space for both domestic and international flights — the new space being large enough to harbor two giant Airbus A380s. When complete, the International Terminal and the Harvey Milk Terminal 1 will be connected before and behind security with "swing gates" that can accommodate domestic or international flights.
This is just the first phase of the project, which is expected to last through 2023. For more information and updates, see www.flysfo.com.
