BAD LUCK & POOR CHOICES TOUR
OF FRENCHTOWN THIS SUNDAY

Some of the best stories are the result of bad luck or poor choices, and that includes the dozen true stories on Bad Luck & Poor Choices Tour of Frenchtown on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m. I tell the stories where they happened – except for the one about Tippoo the Angry Elephant, which happened about 75 miles upstream. We had circus elephants wintering right across the river in the 1880s, but they were not especially angry.

The stories range from 1984 to 1806 and involve tragedy, comedy, trickery, and even some kindness.

The tour costs $15, but it’s free for teenagers. If you are interested, email me at [email protected]. Be sure to send that email and I’ll tell you where we’ll meet up.

LAST TOUR OF THE SEASON:

Saturday, Oct. 26, 2 p.m. – Lower Cemetery Tour -- You’ll learn about the women who rescued Captain Slater of the Union Army, the man who swam away from the Milford train wreck of 1877, the girl who was swept away in the Milford creek flood of 1890, Frenchtown’s first car owner, headstones made of “white bronze,” and the time young Lew Slater & Powers Williams liberated a gaggle of geese from the borough pound. And more!
