The Frisco Arts and Culture Council is hosting Movie Night at the Marina 🍿📽️, a new free community event located on the Frisco Bay Marina Lighthouse Lawn. On Saturday, August 24 from 6:00 pm – 9:45 pm, the entire family may enjoy an evening of fun featuring a free pop-up concert, arts and crafts, food trucks, and a free showing of The Princess Bride. Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and well-behaved, leashed pets.

The Frisco Bay Marina will be offering discounts to Summit County residents on paddle sport and power boat rentals now through Sunday, October 13. This program allows Summit County residents to take advantage of $20 two-hour paddle sport rentals and 30% off all power boat rentals, excluding tours. These discounted rentals are only available day-of, Monday through Thursday until October 13, 2024, and reservations may be made day-of in person at the Frisco Bay Marina Office or by calling 970-668-4334. Proof of residency will be required when checking in for your rental in order to receive the discounted rate.

The Frisco Historic Park and Museum launched Park After Dark, a community event series that provides fun, educational, and historic experiences for all ages in 2023. This year, Park After Dark sponsored by Alpine Bank, returns with a variety of family-friendly events. On Saturday, August 3 from 9:00 pm – 11:00 pm, enjoy a new moon guided tour with Astro Mark, on Friday, August 16 at 6:00 pm hear from Raptor Education Foundation on bird migration and owls in the night sky, and on Saturday, September 21 from 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm dance the night away at a free silent disco.

Tomorrow, August 2 from 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm, join Museum staff and Summit Historical Society to celebrate the seven-volume Historic Landscapes book series. Meet the author, local historian, Bill Fountain, for a short talk on ghost towns, townsites, and railroad stations throughout Summit County, and a Q&A session, followed by a reception in the Historic Park Gazebo. Enjoy live music from Old Fashioned String Band, lawn games, and free food from Argentos Empanadas. Summit Historical Society will be selling wine and copies of the first three volumes of Historic Landscape series, with all funds going to support preservation in Summit County.
