Demand for travel continues to be at an all time high. If your travel plans require having a passport, you’ll want to make sure you apply in time. According to the U.S. Department of State, current processing times for passports applied for on or after March 24, 2023, is 10 to 13 weeks for routine and 7 to 9 weeks for expedited. Keep in mind in order to have expedited services at an agency, you must have international travel within 14 calendar days. Also keep in mind that mailing times are not included in processing times and it may take up to 2 weeks for applications to arrive by mail at a passport agency or center, and up to 2 weeks to receive in the mail after it’s printed.
