Every day at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, a special tradition unfolds during the official flag retreat ceremony. Earlier in the day, one lucky guest—most often a Veteran—is invited by Cast Members to participate in this cherished moment. As the ceremony begins, Park Security, the Main Street Philharmonic Marching Band, and the Dapper Dans Barbershop Quartet gather with the honored guest at the flagpole. Together, they perform patriotic songs like “God Bless America” or the National Anthem, before slowly lowering and folding the flag. This very flag, which flew proudly over the park throughout the day, is then presented to the Veteran alongside a commemorative certificate—one of the most meaningful and rare keepsakes anyone could receive at a Disney park. To our Veterans and service members, we honor and thank you for all you have sacrificed. 🇺🇸
