Walls are shifting and history is unfolding at the Carolina Rising Museum!
In the depths of the old Carnegie Library, demolition and new construction are breathing life into the space - where the stories of Cherokee County’s fight for independence will soon rise from the past. The lower level space is taking shape and the museum's layout is becoming more and more visible.

City offices will be closed today, June 19th, in honor of Juneteenth. Join us this evening at the Cherokee County Museum from 6:00-8:00pm for our first Juneteenth event of the weekend!

We had a wonderful time hosting the Cherokee Charter Academy "Patriot Pals" summer campers at the Gaffney Visitors Center and Art Gallery. Students built innovative LED cannons, discovered their own local history and genealogy, and experienced Cherokee County Revolutionary War history through a Virtual Reality map adventure!
